I did not like Stampede, but I thought Zoro's role in the movie was amazing, even if it was small.
He was the first to follow Luffy in the opening scene, having his back like the reliable righthand he is.
He briefly led the Straw Hat Grand Fleet when he was tasked to defend the Sunny.
Clashed with Issho and briefly questioned the latter's sense of justice.
A little reminder of his rivalry with Mihawk.
Oh, and he looked fantastic from start to finish.
If he interacted with the Captain, it would've been perfect...

I also think grim reaper was real and they fought, but I think Zoro Extreme diffed the grim reaper. This why he is bleeding but is not dead, he won death, just like in Thriller Bark.

Its a bad boring arc for the most, and the writing is often shallow, but when Zoro gets on stage he ignites the atmosphere and the tension turns real. Most of fights and scenes that did not concerned Zoro seemed child games.
