Oda is using Jigoro of the Wind to subtly hint at Shiryu of the Rain's origins in the same chapter where Blackbeard's origins were revealed.

Jigoro was raised in Ringo, while Shiryu was raised in Udon. One was regarded as a hero; the other likely left on bad terms or was banished.

  • The Uzuki Family ruled over the Udon region.
  • "Uzuki" means "Rain Moon."
  • Udon was used as a prisoner mine during the Wano arc.
  • Shiryu of the Rain was both the head jailer and later a prisoner of Impel Down.
  • Connection: Rain and prison
