To add this we probably also get many breaks of Oda. This year probably gonna have more breaks then chapters :)
Next 3/4 should be good though. Shouldn't have to worry until 983-985 at this point. After that then its gonna be a mess again for a while.

On the flip side it means volume 97 should have the right amount of chapters for a release by August.

We haven’t gotten 4 chapters in a row since chapter 958. Loda:few:

Since 2017 when i started reading weekly we have never gotten 5 chapters in a row smh.:lusalty:
Thats because in 2015 or so, Oda got extremely sick and was out for a month. Since then, because of his sleep schedule and health habits, Jump gives him a week off every month or so. For almost 10 years Oda didn't take a break at all at Jump, then he was given a few breaks every year until he got really sick.

Progress is slower, but its better than not having One Piece at all.

Did not know that.

Uh, yeah thats normal lol. Thats actually quite literally his break schedule.
The problem is also the coronavirus and overall the pandemie.
In normal states you are right, we could expect 3-4chapters, but in the current situation I don´t really know.
Did it get better in Japan because of the Corona pandemie? If yes I can see the usually working and not the digital version, in that case we could get again three chapters in raw, but in current states we can be happy to get two chapters before a break start again...

I seriously doubt OP was going to end in 5 years anyway, there are just too many unresolved plotlines, characters who need development or closure and uncovered mysteries left.
When you begin to even realize that the last 400 chapters or so has barely addressed any of the major plot points that have been set up in this series and Wano likely isn't even going to answer any of them save for a few hints lol. The Smile/Doflamingo/BM/Kaido plotline, while entirely necessary as they were teased characters pre-timeskip, it only resolves a minute portion of the entire plot still ongoing.

Made this list in another thread, and its not even fully comprehensive:

I. Characters
- Kaido's past/Rocks history/relationship with Big mom
- Remaining Rocks Pirates, if they are still alive
- Numbers, Yamato, the potential "Ace"
- Further exposition of BMs children at Wano (powers, personalities, etc)

- Vegapunk, his Special Science Group (SSG) and their goals, personalities, etc (I'm sure they are crazy as fuck)
- Kuma's goals, motivations, etc.
- Bonney and her relationship to Kuma
- Dragon's goals and personal motivations. Why did he not follow in Garp's footsteps. What was their fallout?
- Further characterization of the RA Commanders

- Reveals and personalities of CP-0 and its members
- Ryokugyu and his reveal
- Other Marine figures, formal introductions for Chaton/Momosagi. Other "Zodiac" Vice Admirals if they exist.
- Kong and his role in the World Government, other WG members. The hierarchy of the WG.
- History behind the Gorosei and their personalities, powers, goals, etc.
- Literally everything about Im

- Blackbeard, his end goals, full crew powers, personalities, history, and his 10th Titanic Captain.
- Shanks, his end goals, enigmatic personality, etc. His crews personalities, relationships, strengths.

- End goals for the Supernova
- Function/goals behind the Strawhat Fleet (their "major incident")
- End goals/plotlines from "Friendly" marines such as Koby, Smoker/Tashigi, Aokiji
- End goal/plotlines of every former Shichibukai (Buggy, Mihawk, Hancock, Weevil, Kuma)
- End goal/plotlines of every former villain (Crocodile, Enel, Lucci, Moria, Doflamingo, Katakuri) if they factor into the remaining story
- End goal/plotlines to extraneous characters/groups like the Underworld or the Level 6 Escapees still at large.

II. Locations (if we actually get them or just lore dumps)
- Nature of Pirate Island (Beehive) and it possibly giving some further background on Blackbeard, Davy Back Fights, possibly Underworld related. May or may not be significant in the end. We received the same kind of random introduction to WCI from FI about BM, its so its possible the Strawhats visit this location as a small/large arc.
- Vegapunk's Facility/Island/Emerald City (if we actually get to see it), it has been teased several times by Smoker, Fuji, etc.
- Elbaf and its gigantic tree has surely been teased. Hinted that it may have ties to sky islands, the moon, other islands, etc due to this tree and its size.
- God Valley and its significance to Rocks (and why Roger/Garp were also there at the time). Shanks being the same age as the incident is peculiar. Buggy possibly too.
- Lodestar being the last geographical island on Grand Line
- Laugh Tale being the final island in general and obvious reasons why we need to see it
- New Marineford/Mariejois as potential locations. Its very possible that the Final War takes place between these 2 locations and Fishman island for theorized reasons.

III. Plotlines
- How every notable faction mentioned either collides or concedes at the above locations or new locations. This includes how Luffy will surpass the 4 Yonko (+their end goals), fates of every character, significance of many others, etc. Wano's War, the Final War, etc.
- Plot relevance of King's (and Tengu's?) apparently extinct species
- The Last Road Poneglyph and its location
- How the Moon factors into the plot
- Origins of species/the world (the Moon lore sort of touches on this at least for the winged people with Enel)
- Origin/Nature of Devil Fruits
- Joy Boy, Rocks and Im, the 3 most enigmatic characters we have in the series we have thus far and their goals (dead or alive)
- Sunlight Tree Eve and FI's dependence on hiding under the sea (and its eventual destruction)
- The WG's National Treasure
- All 10 (for now) Strawhat dreams, EoS fates.
- Ancient Weapons and their usage
- One Piece
- True History

Scotch is providing the supposed dates that are when Jump will take off due to COVID (I assume). I'm not sure why they are so far out, but those are definitely dates that Jump has never taken breaks on before so it should be due to COVID then. This is why I expect it to be "normal" until July, thus the next 3-4 chapters from Oda should come out on schedule.

In all good news, Jump only has had one COVID related delay so far, and it was over a month ago.

One Piece is really something that I would want to see to its thorough end. And I don’t want it be rushed off like Bleach and I certainly don’t want it getting sidelined due to the authors illness like HxH.
I want it to fulfill the promises of epicness it has made throughout its running years. I don’t want it to side line all those interesting plots it has created and leave it unanswered (GoT style :wellwell:) .
With each passing years, the possibility of One Piece satisfying fans with its one hell of an ending is growing thinner though..!! :sanmoji:

Its definitely something that, while I feel it is a ways off (10 or so years maybe), the end payoff should be something special. End plotlines will eventually converge, and a lot of them actually involve characters people actually care about. I get the feeling a lot of what people don't like is that BM/Kaido have received so much focus and they aren't even the main, driven antagonists in the series. Previous villains in the series lasted an arc and were a means to an end, these 2 Yonko have been around for a long time, and could STILL be around post-Wano depending on where the plot is going with Rocks.

For me, "GIVE ME MORE" is the mentality I have with OP. Each chapter is a "victory" in my eyes, arc lengths make rereads far more enjoyable as they last longer, and in the end, even if I'm closer to 35 than 25 by the time the series ends, at least it will have been an adventure manga that literally covered all staples/elements of fantasy.

Its why I hope that beyond Wano being a gargantuan arc (likely 140+ chapters at this point), we have a few more significant arcs like Vegapunk/Kuma or Elbaf/Moon/God Valley whatever before the final conflicts begin. The fact that we know we at least have Elbaf, Lodestar (most likely), and Laugh Tale at least gives me a good sign that there is more adventure to be had, especially considering we just got a new crew member and likely will get one more. The final war likely taking place near New marineford/Mariejois/FI is very likely considering the FI prophecy and the whole "destroy the redline" theory being very compelling.

So yes, let this shit take as long as it needs to. One day it will all be over and I will be glad it wasn't rushed in the end.
