We need to kill this narrative of Shanks being Luffy’s goal. Is Shanks the Pirate King? No, Roger was. Roger is to Luffy what Mihawk is to Zoro. Luffy has already matched Shanks in terms of political standing as a Yonko and is above in terms of feats. Shanks at best will be an info-dump character and later a BB hype-tool. He's not going to be Luffy’s final test, nor will he be as pivotal to changing the world as Luffy and the Worst Generation.
