I wanted to explain it to you instead of throwing a bunch of one liners.
The bolded part is purely personal preference from you. YOU THINK this is the way to go. I don't think you're wrong for just thinking that, but I strongly disagree with it.
The "not hitting women" is something that Oda himself said it was a value that he wished boys could integrate for themselves.
OVIOUSLY it's not as simple as "never hit women", but Oda is not this expert and his takes on sociological problems are, more often than not, just the tip of the iceberg.
Bottom line is.
Not hitting a woman is not NECESSARILY a bad thing for Sanji's character. And Oda clearly thinks it doesn't need more development than Sanji just moving away from the fight and asking of help instead, which was different from how he approached the problem is EL.
Now, you can think that this is not enough TO YOU, but saying that it somehow contradicts the character in its core is going BEYOND personal taste.

1. They gave the raid suit to Sanji to make fun of him.

In WCI, Sanji being stronger than all of his brothers bar Ichiji would have been good imo. It may prove that you can become stronger by not only through Genetics but by working hard as well.
By the time of WCI, Sanji is kind of a veteran who has circled nearly half of the world and has faced unbelievably strong enemies in a very short time frame. Sanji being second strongest wouldn't have undermined him (power lvl vise) and would have conveyed what Naruto (part-1 atleast) tried to convey lol. But he was constantly clowned by Ichiji and Niji and he was constantly saved by them. Moreover we have seen Sanji take attacks much worse than a gun shot but to emphasize his human (-ness and him not being a monster without emotions), even a normal gun shot was over dramatised imo. His ability as a fighter could have been shown much better in WCI.

Oda could write more development for core of straw hats instead of jinbe who was written since impel down and is at wherever we go. He preferred to write useless character improvement. Why jimbe join hats what is point and why we saw lots of kimbe karate thing. Oda have already left Sanji I think forget sanji anymore. During the post time skip, have you ever seen any Sanji haki improvement please enlightened me.d
