Speculations "The decisive battle"

#7
Act 3 will probably end when a signficant moment in the plot happens.

Oda probably wants to

- Set up all the fights
- Have the dynamic of confidence shift on the rooftop (make the 5 think they are going to lose/struggle) or show off Kaido's hybrid/get BM to become serious
- Land Onigashima in Wano
- Have some plot twist (Orochi alive, unannounced arrival of someone/group)

Then the act will end. I give it another 5-10 chapters. It's a lot of content to get through to even achieve that, let alone resolve every battle and plot point in Wano.

To me this "decisive battle" barely has started yet. That shit lasted like 30 chapters for Doflamingo. It will be longer for Kaido/Linlin

I would say act 3 ends in the next 3-5 chapters with Oda setting up most fights and the final reveal of the act will be that Orochi is alive and has a plan to actually destroy wano (which has always been his goal). Then the rest of the year is Act 4 with the rest of the fights and twists.
But I agree this battle ends by the dawn. There is a reason Oda choose the battle at night.

Im fine as long as we get a break from Wano in 2 chapters. What do you think, will this act continue till the end of Wano?(without any breaks)
Nah, but I dont think its ending next chapter. Give it a few more beyond that. Things are still technically ramping up. Fights haven't started anywhere else. People are missing entirely, the island is shifting us back to mainland.

Its like when Luffy fought Doffy. That started before any other type of fight, and it went on for some time before Oda dedicated like 12 chapters to other fights, then he returned to the main battle with Doffy.

Hes got a pretty particular structure, you can see this happening in Alabasta and Enies Lobby too. I expect this preliminary fight with Kaido to either cause the 5 Supernova to lose temporarily or least forced to change up their game.

Once that happens and the other battles are set up, then probably the act ends. Act 4 is maybe all fights and the Rocks/Kaido/Yamato flashback, plus whatever Orochi ends up doing if he's alive

The words used in the 1001 chapter title.

Do people still think we're going to have a final battle in 2 weeks time in a "Act 4"?

Kaido will go down by the upcoming dawn of *tonight*.
Yeah, I think this battle is not decisive. In every arc prior, the final round against the arc antagonist did not commence until all the Strawhats had completed their battles. Currently most of the other Strawhats haven't even begun their battles. Some other points in favour of another round:
  • We haven't yet gotten a Kaido flashback.
  • Luffy often beats monumental antagonists on the 3rd round fighting them
  • Luffy is being singled out in the current fight. It's likely he ultimately beats Kaido at the end of a solo fight to shatter Kaido's legacy as the 1 vs 1 champion.
  • Hawkins 1% chance of survival
  • Hawkins card that enables people go beyond their limits

Hawkings read Luffy and Zoro's odds in a month's time.
Has a month reached between when HAwkings met them and now?

If yes then this is the final battle, if no then this isn't

  • Luffy, Zoro, Kidd, Killer and Law get defeated > they die, Kaido won't let them live
  • They die > Alliance loses, because there is no way for Alliance to win without those five
  • Alliance loses > Flower Capital gets destroyed
Unless Kaido decides to execute them publicly, like Oden, i don't see them losing.

This doesn't mean much, for all we know Zoro and Luffy could be in a coma for the next 2 weeks after the battle or Oda could simply retcon it.
This battle is ending this dawn.

People seem with some trauma from WCI when people actually thought the alliance needed to win in order to successfully flee but the goal in WCI was never to dethrone Big Mom.
Oda would waste 80+ chapters here on Wano of pure build up just for the alliance lose in some chapters and hit reset again... Like the odds of this happening are simply way too low.

We still have ways to go pluses others Sh ant got there match ups yet and all stars like king and queen , I'm seeing something happening like the island breaks apart separating everyone to there main fight or something down dat line
