This is being going on for a long time now.
Fans cry whenever things doesn't go the way they like be it the portrayal of their favorite character or the plot progression. That's just how saltiness within them take shape lol
I see nothing wrong with Shs coming together like that.
I mean, wasn't this was obvious when Shs planned to take down kaido? LMAO!!
And, what's interesting is we are talking about those ShS who literally declared war against world government in their own territory and didn't back out pre ts
It's a future pirate king crew. What else you expect from them during a yonkou saga? Run away? Eat noodles?
Tbh, one piece was far more enjoyable when we didn't resort to having discussions on every single aspect of this manga REPEATEDLY

People feed to much into Oda having Luffy hype up weaker characters, for the sake of making the story interesting. Ulti and Page One have a small impressive showing against base Luffy and all of a sudden, OMG THEY ARE SO STRONK!!! Yet Oda has the lesser Straw Hats have a few small impressive showings against Big Mom and it's lmao, Big Meme, she sucks, blah blah blah blah... The only time Oda seriously cares about strength portrayals is the end of the arc fights, where the stakes are at the highest. 1 v 1's where its two characters going at it. Outside of that, everything else if fair game. You think one scabbard is achieving what it took 9 scabbards to achieve against Kaido? Of course not.... One would get boot stomped into the fucking ground. This has been an ongoing formula in One Piece since it began, but for some reason people are blind to that.

I wouldn't say hypocrisy though, they can be unrelated, because current writing and how they are being "focussed" is pretty much shit writing.
In my view, SHs still are still not really focussed they just got a some panels together...and both those points are valid. Its not because that they are focussed at all...but things have become inconsistent. Oda just does something without any development towards it... take robin/franky they were pretty much neglected struggled against lower tiers(dressrosa itself) and now are promoted to fight who we think will give hard time for top tiers from. Do you think ussop having a skirmish against Doffy would make sense in dressrosa? Ofcourse not...and here oda just did that with BM..gags are fine...we even gave excuse of ok BM is not in her right mind etc in WCI but here she is full serious and is angry to take revenge. If oda wanted to this, he should have done so from the start itself, she should be like buggy from the start. This inconsistency is not just with SHs but I guess mostly for them to makes his plot progress without much planning. Too many random things are happening, which feel stupid when you read a chapter, just to add panels.
