Luffy has already started his gaunlet.Tbh, marines are coming with 2 top tiers and many many many ships with probably a bunch of vice admirals and other high ranked officers, the least you can expect from them is do something impressive.
Straw hats are the underdogs numbers wise

you say that and yet despite defeating kaido, luffy still struggling with a seraphim and is fighting alongside rob lucci. Also this a much tougher challenge than wano because the strawhats dont have 4000 allies fighting alongside them

Yonkos kaido and big mom lost, so 2 yonko got a L and 2 yonko got a W. There is no pattern. Blackbeard and shanks got Ws because they are finally making moves for the op

The marines aren't here to "hype" Luffy's yonko status. Oda already used Lucci and Kaku for that very purpose. Kaku said that they shouldn't attack the straw hats because they are a yonko crew. Lucci did not respect that status and attacked anyway and got folded. Thats after lucci's strength was hyped by one shotting a vegapunk and sentomaru, and showing an awakening. So Oda has already made his message of "respect yonko luffy". The situation with the marines is different.

Kizaru is not underestimating Luffy at all as he is coming with a huge fleet of 100 ships. This is going to be the strongest force the strawhats have ever gone up against by themselves. They are going to be overwhelmed. There is also going to be new vice admirals like doll, we may even see an admiral candidate. So this is Oda's opportunity to hype up these new characters to set up final war.

Kizaru will dominate luffy and will be about to finish him off, until he will have to retreat due to Saturn being abducted by the bbp. That's how the strawhats will be able to escape. After this, Luffy, Kid and Law will all be in a rebuilding phase while blackbeard soars ahead using Saturn as Leverage. This is how oda gets blackbeard in a more dominant position than luffy before their confrontation.

I don’t think the Marines will beat Luffy. It wouldn’t be big news if Marines simply beat down a rookie Yonko. Marines will likely take an L here forcing Saturn to actually get serious and fight the Straw Hats, at which point Saturn will probably give Straw Hats an L.

The incident is meant to shock the world like nothing before has. Yonkos losing is nothing new. And the world being shocked has a connotation of it being a bad shock, not a happy suprise. Gorosei are leaders of the world and one being captured would absolutely unheard off throughout history

Both still happening, killer is the only one with the build up and narrative purpose to beat beckman and when kid pirates rematch shanks thats exactly what will happen.

Why wouldn’t the reveal that one of the World leaders is some hellish monster shock the world, alongside the defeat of an Admiral.

A Gorosei and an admiral being destroyed will shock the world more than anything and bro the kid pirates are gone.
