List of blackbeard vs luffy build up:
1) The first page of BB is he enjoying the cake and luffy hating the food, while luffy is enjoying the juice and BB is hating the juice. Oda basically is showing that one is the opposite of the other
2) Teach is the "most pirate" btw all pirates in op. He has a small crew like luffy (same number of members if you consider that there will be a new one strawhat)
3)Teach is the darkness, luffy is the light (sun god)
4) Teach is the one who sent Ace to WG, causing his death
5) Teach now has Garp (Luffy grandfather)
6) Both are D
7) unlike the other villains, teach began the story being a no one (like luffy), he was not an warlord, a cp9, yonkou or a god. No one in that reunion to replace crocodile heard about him before.
8) Teach is the character that Shanks fears the most

I dont think we are going to Pirate Island. A very consistent thing Oda does is not fully show off the islands and locations he intends to have the crew go next. The main 3 that are still like this are Elbaf, Lodestar and Laugh Tale.
I would sooner expect Blackbeard to be involved in a bigger fight with Shanks and Akainu or even just a Lodestar/LT than assume he will fall at Pirate Island
