Yonko are monsters. Luffy is a monster. However goofy he is, his strength is beyond comprehension to goddamn high tiers like YC1 level characters
even Zoro who defeat Lucci is basically insignificant to Luffy in strength

Clashing with normal sized G5 is nothing weird.
Doflamingo can easily do it.
Without giantification of entire body or body parts, he isnt physically strong.
Marco would easily overpower him, Katakuri with mochi hands easily as well.
And King would trash him in every physical exchange.

This flashback is Oda showing that when dealing with Imu even Yonko or PK levels aren't enough. It was him essentially raising the bar for Luffy.
But some people somehow mental gymnastic'ed themselves into thinking that Luffy or Kaido aren't really Yonko or PK level or whatever, and it's Kizaru who is actually the strongest man alive.

Imu cannot be damaged? Nothing new - Perona's ghost body couldnt be damaged either.
Affecting the personality of a target/transforming them? Also nothing new - Perona's ghosts and Sugar's ability already demonstrated it.
Nothing weird about those 6 legends doing nothing to Imu's fake body because we know for a fact that his real body is on top of the Red Line. Regarding why Rocks couldnt resist Domi Reversi/how it can be countered, remains to be seen.
We havent seen counters to Perona's negativity either nor Sugar's transformation.
