Who says he is losing his emotions in this fight? Can be right after.

You think this will happen like that : Current Sanji will keep his emotions during the fight and then will have a Pu and beat Queen. Then he will lose his emotions. then Zoro or Nami will fix him with emotions again.

My problem with that scenario is how Sanji will power up. I think Sanji PU will be based on his emotions/will (better fire/haki etc). So this can't happen ie he doesn't struggle with them first.

to be fair I don't fucking know how Evil Sanji without DJ can be stronger than current Sanji, but i don't think it make sense to have an Evil Sanji during this fight who will be weaker than current one. Story wise if Evil Sanji pop up during the fight he wont be weaker than current one.

Either be ruthlesness, or other thing I think Oda can create somthing.

I think it'd be pretty poetic if evil sanji had ice based powers

It would highlight what sanji's flames represent and would make evil sanji as powerful as normal sanji

Sanji himself said he will defeat Queen in his own way. His PU is gonna be DJ related or whatever. Him going Evil and getting stronger because of that - for whatever reason - and defeat Queen would contradict his own words and would ruin the whole meaning of that moment when he destroyed the RS and said he is done with Germa.

I'm surprised they reused animation from the Page One fight for this moment, but they did a good job hyping King, I suppose.

Not only they completely reused the animation from the Page One fight, they went for the lazy "stop attack with the hand" "hype".


The rest of the "fight" was ok.
Guess they didn't get the memo to stop using Sanji to hype people like that.


I wonder if anime-only people will look at manga readers going crazy and hyped about Sanji and think "wtf, how?" during these next months.

This was my reaction to the episode in general, if anyone is interested:

Haha, what an episode.

The animation was fantastic, though some of the Soba mask stuff was reused. It was a little weird to see 3D animation used near the end, but it was a welcome addition.

Queen's random Engrish damn near killed me. I enjoyed the different reactions both for Momo's rescue, as well as the end of King vs. O-Sobamask. Seeing everything fall apart in anime form, realizing that war was breaking out, was very nice to see in the anime, along with Queen's reaction.

King the F-35 was great!

They went all in here, but the extra scenes for King vs. Stealth Black/O-Sobamask gave me a massive grin throughout, and it was nice that the anime demonstrated just how mighty King was. Still, I never expected to see a dogfight in One Piece, but it was exciting nonetheless.

Linlin's Ikoku was beautiful and well done.

Brook and Franky were just too cool this episode, singing as they got ready to run over an Emperor. It had me like:

We're getting closer to episode 1000! what a time to be a One Piece fan.

Stuff like this usually happens at Sanji's expense. I understand the disappointment, but it is what it is.

Ngl, the only part I think was legit bad was the reuse of the "hand stopping attack" thing.
Aside from that, having a little tease of what could have been an AMAZING fight was great.
Hopefully if Oda watches it, he might feel inspired to actually give Sanji a real aerial matchup later on. One can hope.
