Honestly, I'm a little bummed that Zoro's backstory was handled like this, but at the same time, I'm so tired of toxic Zoro fans, that it's like "yeah, at your face, you kinda deserve it with your constant Sanji bashing, say what you will, but your cool badass character gets less focus than that other one you hate so much".
I don't mind Zoro tbh, he's like #4 in my top-SH list, but some of his fans are just ugh.
Sanji as a character, as flawed as he is, is still more interesting to me. I really really want him to unlock advanced CoO, because he's not just a powerhouse, he's also smart, and I love smart fighting a lot more than simple "punch you till the last one is standing" (although Katakuri vs Luffy was kinda nice, Kaido vs Luffy was a little boring in the end).

"call me your dog" and "save me Robin"
Do you think those are legitemately bad moments?

Asking for Robin's help is character development

And Oda single handedly clowned those who claimed Sanji didn't fight women because he sees all of them as weaklings or objects: He called Robin to help him out and trusted her like no one else in the crew did.

"Call me your dog", bro thats literally Oda self inserting into Sanji's character. You're acting like Sanji is getting a whole arc about how to be a dog (for the literal "queen of the pleasure district" lol)

Meanwhile how Oda is refusing to answer things about Sanji in the SBS, because he literally wants to show them to us in the actual manga. This is great news
:finally:

I'm probably overreacting a little there :)

To be honest, I wasn't happy with "save me Robin" moment when I was reading it on weekly basis, because it was so sad to see Sanji fooled and trapped, and then "no I'm not gonna use CoA not to harm a lady". In a retrospect, it does make a compelling story, and shows character growth. Sanji's putting trust in Robin similar how she put her trust into SH on Enies Lobby is cool. Robin herself was happy to help and crushed Black Maria with all her might. So I was unhappy in the moment when it was happening, because while women are consistently shown as Sanji's weakness, and at the same time during Robin's arc he was smart enough to read through the situation, pick up lies, and even be cool about it to Chopper. Then he met Kalifa and got defeated, but it was just his bad luck. Here he's just outta WCI and should remember Pudding and her betrayal, why again making the same mistake? If he stumbled upon Black Maria and got caught because of ladies, ok, this is one thing, but he was lured by a simple trap, someone's acting, with his supposedly superior CoO. Which is good enough for him to hear something nobody else can, but isn't good enough to see it's a trap.

Call me dog is actually a gag, I'm used to Sanji's flirty nature, I just wish Oda didn't forget about Sanji's other defining features :)

I actually always really liked “Save Me Robin” because I just recently reread Ennies lobby before Onigashima and It was a great callback to what Nami told Sanji. That next time to ask for help.

This ideal was harkened later when Sanji told Usopp do what he can and Sanji will do what he can’t.

The moments where the straw hats genuinely have each others back is always so refreshing. And the CoO thing is likely just Sanji heard a woman in trouble and ran to help because it’s his character never to doubt a woman.

That's why I'm saying I'm overreacting a little. Knowing the full story makes this moment a lot better, and I don't hate that Sanji asked for help, it is a great marker of his character growth (both as a callback to Nami, and to the whole WCI where he basically gave up on himself instead of asking the crew to help). But it was painful to watch/read and I don't like my favourite character being in pain :hurry:

Sanji's is Oda's favorite confirmed? :quest:
hot take but this is ass now dj is from germa? judge didn’t acknowledge it after seeing and called him a failure how does it makes sense that dj is from germa or does he mean dj is a science power from his mom?

also he didn’t even answer the question about eyebrows change we still don’t know what it means and why did it take 3 times for the raid suit to start changing him

Apparently it just says the Raid Suit is fire resistant

Or Sanji already was more resistant than fire since ever, which contradicts the idea of him being a normal human and a failure, like Judge and Sanji's brothers said multiple times

Thats why i believe Oda is talking about the Raid Suit when he mentioned the fire resistance

Seems like it's about dormant genes...
Somehow, due to Sanji's being a chef his fire resistance got awakened earlier?

I'm kinda sad Warchief got banned for a month, seems like he'd have fun right now here with us.
I think it's bad translation, Oda basically said Raid Suit give him fire resistance which he already have in the past
Post automatically merged:

I'd say increased heat resistance is from RS. Sanji had heat resistance before (he wouldn't be able to have DJ otherwise), but it got enhanced and now he can do IJ.
Could be

I curious if Sora is from special lineage, ancient perhaps?? Because DJ & now Ifrit in future maybe even Surtr are fire demons
Ohh, I'd love more info on Sora, because fire powers should come from somewhere, and if they are from Sora, it perfectly matches with why Judge wanted her as his wife (kinda reminds me if Endeavor in MHA), but due to his experiments, all those genes were suppressed, and only Sanji can go fire. That would explain why Judge wasn't impressed with DJ, he was kind of reminded of his failure.
