I really hope Luffy's dream isn't some world wide party signing Bink's Sake or something. That's been hinted at for the longest time so being so secretive with it would be redundant.
Why would going to space be ever linked to being the pirate king?
It's either something about freedom or "making everyone smile".
Again another retcon that wasn't needed in my opinion, just liek the nika fruit that could have just been "the same fruit as Joyboy" and an awakened gum gum.
Luffy could still want to be the pirate king because it means X, and not just say that his dream is X. This heavyhanded foreshadwoing is pretty poor in delivery in my opinion, although needed because if Yamato knows it, of course the crew has to know it.
I just believe that Oda wants to make Luffy’s dream shocking and isn’t considering how he’s going to deliver it. This is me guessing but Luffy and Roger shared the same dream. Roger was more of an adventurer. Maybe he wanted to explore space. Since Luffy is Roger’s parallel, then he too wants to go to space. Anyways, my speculation about Luffy’s true dream will as more information gets revealed.

why would a party surprise anyone or make them laugh? luffy always wants to party. its the most obvious and expected thing possible that he would want to have a big party after becoming pirate king. why would this be an impossible dream? they just get everyone on den den mushi and party together. easy. nothing about "its a big party" makes any sense in context! it's not shocking, it won't make anyone cry, it won't make anyone laugh. at best they smile and go that sure is luffy, he loves parties.
the dream is something else guys

i think it could be something like "i want to see everyone's dreams become real" or "i want to set the whole world free" or something, which actually is insane and overly ambitious, unlike a big party
There isn't a single one piece fan that legitimately thinks sabo is dead.
My entire point is that this isn't a good mystery. The main character's motivations are something that is so basic that almost every story explains them in detail way before the climax.
There's no reason for Oda to conceal this. If he needs to conceal this to make the climax feel special or keep people "gripped", then he's written himself into a corner.
Luffy’s dream is concealed because it’ll be related to the ending and like any good author on the planet you try to get the viewers hooked as much as possible. Nothing to do with bad writing at all.
