Anime & Manga Titty Kubo Has Defeated Lee (Remembering the Fallen)

The captains are pretty cool. In particular Captain of Squad 8 immediately had my favorite design among these captains so I was glad to see that not only did he get some focus in the Chad fight, but he also didn’t lose to some pointless tweenage powerup or whatever.
Lmao, you thought that Chad could have actually defeated Kyoraku?

Honestly I did, I was spoiled left and right when watching Soul Society arc. Knowing how Ichigo and Uryu each defeated 1 Captain, I thought Chad the muscle of the gang, would defeat 1 too.

Quite funny reading this.

Bleach was my first anime series, so I knew jack shit about other manga’s or Japan or anything. Vague memories of watching Pokemon, Digimon and YuGiOh as like a 5 year old, but then a big gap before I discovered Bleach.

So 13 year old me found the Soul Society to be a completely wacky and amazing place. Medieval Japan but with technology, magic, talking cats and massive cannons. Never seen anything like it.

Also it was the anime and not the manga, so that’s quite a different vibe.

Whereas if I was to read it now for the first time? Probably, yeah, seen it all before nothing new.

Basically, nostalgia can carry over a lot of sins, cause while I know Bleach has a myriad of problems god I still love it. And maybe there should be some recognition that it was 13 year olds that the series was aimed towards and not grown men.

(And I still don’t think anyone can experience the full Kuboness of the TYBW unless you are reading the chapters weekly and seeing how little he can move a plot at the end).

Alright guys, I just finished Uryu vs Captain 12.

Gentlemen, this was the first Bleach fight that I not only immensely enjoyed but actually couldn’t stop reading. This fight gave me hope that Titty is actually capable of entertaining me and telling a good story.

First off, Captain 12 was a great antagonist. He was so weird, sadistic, and intimidating in all the right ways. The reveal that he experimented on Uryu’s grandfather, I was like “oh shit this fight is going to get real lol”, and indeed it did. Plus the first actual Bankai I’ve seen used by Captain 12, I feel was a great reveal to the power itself. I was like “the fuck is that???!!” Lol, and even though it got one shot I still feel that Kubo got the message across: that Bankai are overwhelmingly powerful abilities.

Second, Uryu as a POV character >>>>>> Ichigod, dear lord I can’t express how much better Uryu was for me. Firstly, Uryu actually had a relateable motive in this fight, fighting for his grandfather’s honor. Whereas in Ichigod vs Kenpachi, Ichigod’s motive was simply getting a bit weirdly attached to his weapon lol. Second, Uryu gained explosive power but I feel this worked much better than with Ichigod. For one, Uryu actually trains and has been a Quincy for longer than a damn week, in fact he seems to have received Quincy training for pretty much all of his life. Second, Uryu gaining explosive power at the cost of his Quincy powers (although I doubt he’ll lose his powers for good) works much better than simply Ichigod gaining unlimited powa for no fucking reason at all, because with Uryu there was a very real and very severe plot effecting consequence to this power.

Uryu vs Captain 12 completely and utterly took an epic shit on Ichigod vs Kenpachi in just about every way for me.

Some other thoughts: RUkia being the one who killed Ganju’s brother was a superb twist, I genuinely did not see that coming at all and felt like an idiot when it was revealed. Rare giga-writing moment from the same guy who wrote a fight about Ichigod getting emotionally attached to a sword.

And finally, Bankai. I think my eyes rolled a full circle in the back of my head when I read that Ichigo was going to unlock a power up that takes even talented soul reapers a decade to obtain, in 3 damn days lmfaooo, I was like “fucking Titty man, this guy can’t get anything with Ichigod right…” but at this point Ichigod is just a complete meme so fuck it, why not I guess.

Finally Bleach got actually good. Onto the next one.

Yeah Uryu's fight was pretty interesting. Really made me dislike Mayuri heavily.

Damn, we had complete opposite reactions to this fight. Lol.
I thought having Kurotsuchi explicitly state that he couldn't care less about his test subjects only to whip out a convenient Afterlife photograph of Uryu's mentor was lol worthy.

Then having Uryu explicitly state that he would stake his honour as a Quincy on killing Kurotsuchi (after Kurotsuchi explicitly mocked Quincy honour as being worthless) only to then not point his attack at Kurotsuchi's head (which apparently would have successfully killed Kuro) and then demand that Kuro begs for his life which then allows Kuro to escape via fictional science..... Yeah, I couldn't take this fight entirely seriously.

Still much better than Ichigo vs Kenpachi since I can actually remember it.

I’m fine to suspend my disbelief on stuff like this. Maybe #12 simply keeps records of all his experiments for future reference like a scientist might. And as for Uryu not killing him, I just read this as Uryu possessing something of a moral high ground. I’m fine to accept stuff like this without thinking too much on it.

Ichigod wanting to fuck his own sword though,
:gonope::gonope::gonope:
