A dual pistol wielding Samurai!!
Izo is a dual pistol wielding Samurai and a former retainer of the Kozuki Family.
He is immensely loyal & thorough with his responsibilities as retainer to his master Oden, who is notorious for his eccentric personality. Izo was able to predict that Oden would attempt to leave Wano illegally on Whitebeard's Ship, so he tailed him, and ultimately ended up boarding Whitebeard's Ship as a result.
After several voyages and experiencing several adventures with the Whitebeard crew, Izo who had become quite accustomed to the crew, decided to remain on the board and then took up the position of the 16th Division Captain of the Whitebeard Pirates.
During the "Summit War", otherwise known as the "War of the best", Izo lost Whitebeard who he idolized as a "Father".
Izo who has once again survived another losing war (i.e. "The Payback War"), is determined to succeed on his mission to avenge Oden and participates in the raid on Onigashima!
With his, Samurai Soul infused in his bullets, Izo challenges Kaido!
"Unsuited for Swordsmanship"
In the past, unrefined as it was, Izo persisted with swordsmanship however after hearing Vista's words and I quote
"Let's protect what we have to with what we are good at!!"
He switched to using guns instead.

On Onigashima, he fights alongside his little brother "Kikunojo" and pulls off a perfectly synchronized combination attack with him!
Making his sworn enemy Kaido falter from the attack~!

Putting Oden's position as the Daimyo of Kuri and the heir to Shogunate into consideration, he admonishes him to not depart the country illegally.
He was also enraged at Whitebeard for putting his master through such a difficult ordeal.
