sandman is also wrong about this

What "native japanese" person says nah, bro? Is there some sort of advantage you get in this community by pretending to be japanese? There's a conversationally fluent japanese speaker in KOL's discord who does this and is obviously an American or European pretending.

Is there something wrong with just saying you're learning, or that it's not your first language?

or i guess, god forbid, the worst possible thing would be that it is your native language but you're not actually an expert in it and can make mistakes just as much as anyone else.

sandman is Japanese and if you do a standard search on Google for each spelling his point is generally correct. But it’s very possible Oda did intend a sci-fi pun.

As far as I know, this person is Japanese and an educated person
This is a normal thing. In some languages, words have many meanings and puns
I am not Japanese, but I think it is one of the most difficult languages

That's like the first thing they should've changed. Their proofreaders aren't getting paid enough I guess.
Mother Frame is not a clear mistake though. Stephen Paul (Viz translator) said via the OP podcast: “It’s a coin toss between Mother Frame and Mother Flame depending on if it’s meant to be sci-fi as in futuristic ancient weapon’s mothership mainframe or mythological so that could get changed in the future.”

I see. I thought Mother Flame is meant to be the energy source for whatever weapon they were using to destroy Lulusia. Since VP uses fire as a source of energy to fuel to run Egghead, I thought Mother Flame makes more sense.

So how is he incorrect. And Sandman has been clarifying shit for years tf i trust him more than you
hes incorrect because hes saying フレイム is "flame" and フレーム is "frame" but japanese people can use both for both. its not a hard and fast rule. there is a japanese clothing brand and a bicyclist magazine both called "FRAME" in english and "フレイム " in Japanese.

Sandman has been more interested in clarifying what Oda's studio's street address is than anything else
