Character Discussion WB was one of odas best characters but every flashback he makes him worse and more retarded

The same Whitebeard who pre-TS bitched out from going after Teach?? Yes Oda made him worst post-TS by showcasing the same tendencies Newgate already showcased pre-TS.

You think Whitebeard was a better for sacrificing hundreds of his so called "Sons" to save 1 son vs not going after Kaido for some pointless revenge in a war where his sons would die? This is more consistent to being a "father"?? One would assumee a Whitebeard fan would be thankful Oda showed him as a competent "father" post-Ts lol.

Newgate made it clear, he as a pirate isn't buddy buddy with Xebec. Xebec attacked him, and he said "iight im out". He's a pirate.

Yeah one can say he was a hypocrite as he chose to sacrificed many lives of his sons to save one son who disobeyed his orders in the first place.

He knew he won't be long in this world, someone with Emperor potential should take the helm from him, unfortunately that guy is Ace. He might thinking for some time about the D member mentioned by Roger who will reach the LaughTale and change the world, again it's Ace. However he realized he was wrong about it when fate didn't go Ace way which his death proved why he is wrong. In the meantime, he realized Luffy is probably the one.

Son who is alive, paraded around and about to be publicly executed in a broadcast to rest of the world.

Versus brother who had died years prior to his knowledge.

An important context here.
Whitebeard's crew is basically like a yakuza family. They will fight to save their member, but if the member is already dead, they would not fight to avoid more deaths.......the dude is already dead. Especially when the hostage situation is meant as a public challenge. If you don't answer that call, then nobody in your crew is safe.

I wasn't talking about oden though. He chose to sacrifice his other son's aka his own crew to save a single son who disobeyed his orders.

Sure, none of this changes the fact... as a FATHER he sacrificed hundreds of his sons to save one, in an all out war where he had 0 chances of saving Ace. Lol.

He didn't attempt a covert rescue mission. No this man thought he with his sick self had a chance to go at the Marines with 6 top tiers on their side... all while Garp just smiling at him had this dude tripping out. 😮‍💨

All you did was give me the reasoning as to why he chose to save Ace. That reasoning is a selfish reasoning, which is completely fine. As everybody is selfish in one piece to an extent. But let's not pretend or act as if his character already wasnt flaws pre-TS.

As a Pirate CAPTAIN its not an issue, since pirates are selfish about their goals. As a dude pretending to be the mother Teresa of OP-verse, yea that's hypocritical.

Not that its an issue for me personally, most characters in OP are hypocritical in some aspects.
