It always used to waver between 8 and 9, sometimes hit a 10. But by the time Luffy lost on the roof, it was apparent that there was going to be too much time spent trying to make the basics work even though he kept piling on new shit that wouldn't see justice.
And since then til now, for me it's gone down to about a 5. It's still the only manga I read every week, but it's more about curiosity than excitement

I give it a 9, no other series has kept me interested this long and I gotta give it credit for that. Enough to be the only manga besides Berserk that I check online forums to discuss.
