Character Discussion What are your thoughts on Kid so far during the roof battle?

Just saying, all 5 Supernovas have been punching, slashing, slamming the fuck out of Kaidou, yet all he thought about is "Oden Oden Oden Enma Enma Samurai Samurai". Kaidou's obsession with Oden, and The Samurai is undeniable, and coincidentally, there's a Samurai (Ronin if you want to call him that) who's holding Oden's sword on the rooftop. It doesn't take a big brain to connect the dots. Luffy is gonna shine the most, and a Samurai (You-Know-Who) who will shine the second.
Just like how Dressrossa, an Arc which was built around Law's revenge on Doffy, had Luffy shine the most, and Law shine the second.
WCI, an Arc which was built around food and Sanji's history with the Vinsmoke, had Luffy shine the most, and Sanji shine the second.
Wano, an Arc which was built around SAMURAI, and Zoro's journey to become a monstrous Samurai like Oden that Kaidou has been waiitng for, will have Luffy shine the most, and Zoro shine the second.

Not saying that Kidd and the others can't unleash a new power up, even Zoro could. But Asura is simply not a new power up, or at least almost not, because odds wise it shall definitely be still there. But new power up are more tricky to conceive, not that they are not there too, it's just that we have less confirmation.

He could be doing far better, that’s for sure.

First off, Kid finding his own way to damage Kaido is a route I like Oda taking. Instead of just handing him ryou like everybody else, putting his fruit to good use is a far better utilization of his overall abilities. It also gives Oda considerable room to get creative with his fruit to find ways for him to be effective. I don’t expect things to just be limited to compression, there’s far more Oda can draw from with magnetism related abilities than just ferromagnetic compression that would easily cause internal damage, or bypass Kaido’s durability.

On the flipside though, Kid has been doing perhaps the least outta the 5 when it comes to inducing any meaningful damage on Kaido. Oda didn’t waste a step in abandoning Kid’s idea to compress/compact Kaido to death as soon as he brought it up. Because Kid just went full Undertaker on Kaido and just started body slamming him to the ground in 1002. An impressive display of his physical power in Punk Rotten, but its not effective it doesn’t do much of anything in comparison to what the other 4 have been doing. Shit makes me wonder why Oda thinks Kid slamming Kaido to the ground was better than having him put more magnetism related abilities to use, like his Punk Vise. His fruit has a lot of untapped potential that Oda could draw from but instead mans thought going Wrestlemania was a good idea lmao.

Tho it’s still admittedly very early, its only been 3 chapters. It’s for these reasons that I think Kid will get his moments to shine in due time. But yeah Oda could definitely have him doing better to open up this fight.

The thing is Kid will shine. People will just act like they didn’t downplay him and all that it happens with literally every character lol. I’m not even impressed with Luffy if I’m honest, after seeing Red Roc I was like damn we gone get a whole new type of moves, just to see typical gear 4 Gatling attacks and so on lol. WHERES THE FIRE LUFFY, WHERE DID IT GO?????

Frankly Kid hasn’t gotten his moment yet. Neither has Law or Killer, they’ve all landed attacks but I assume everyone up here will get one big moment. One hype ass panel, if not then fuck Oda lol

Kidd used only base attacks in Punk Rotten and there is the possibility of Awakening, also there's something very useful there in Onigashima... who knows..?

I used to believe that Mama would awaken Onigashima with her powers (and the reawakened titan would then use the sword). That was before, Kaido levitated the island though.

Zoro has been shining more than Luffy so far lol. I wouldn't be surprised if it's eventually like Thriller Bark, where people aren't clear who between Zoro and Luffy was the true star of the arc.

Besides, Zoro has had more prominence in Wano than in Thriller Bark.
