Time to discuss. Is Imu just one of the 20 kings from the void century that ate a mythical Zoan and lived so long due to the immortality operation, as suggested by Ivankov? Or is it, that Imu is indeed some supernatural entity that either controls Imu or just disguises itself as Imu? Both Ivankov and Cobra said that there was indeed a king named Imu, so I would assume that Imu isn't the name of the entity itself.

That also begs the question, what are the origins of that creature? Was it present in the first world as well? If yes, how did it came into the second world? Did it just live to the present, or was it defeated and reborn, to take possession of Imu?

I personally think that it is related to a Devil Fruit. Just like Nika, in the end, is just a Devil Fruit that manifested itself at some point, that devil counter part also was a Devil Fruit. We know that zoans have a will of their own, so just like the consumer of the Nika fruit becomes sun god Nika and has supernatural abilities, it is not far fetched that this devil fruit is also some kind of mythical zoan that, when awakened, gives all kinds of supernatural abilities and also changes the hosts character.

I think that if we enter supernatural beings territory that operate outside of Devil Fruits, it will be something related to gods (e.g. sea god). After all we know that the sea god curses those with a DF, hence they lose their power when submerged in the sea, so it's not far fetched that this sea god is indeed a real entity. Just like the serpent might be.

It is pretty much a guessing game but from what we know...

Imu of the house Nerona is just a normie from before Void Century, one of the 20 kings who lived since then due to some sort of eternal life, whether it is through Ope no Mi's ability or due to lifespan stealing similar to BM's...
This should be still the same person, driven mad due to something that happened in the war of the 2nd world but the way Imu refers to itself with Mu might suggest that this is someone else instead who took over Imu's body.

All the abilities Imu displays should be result of a Devil Fruit, similar to Luffy's, based on imagination or whatever.
Either way, what we saw with turning enemies into allies and transforming them is just Sugar's ability on steroids and we know Oda creates similar abilities with different level... Sugar too transforms the enemies and makes them obey, never to harm those that were mentioned during the contract. Of course, the type should be mythical Zoan, one of the god fruits.

Imu, the king from VC is not from the 1st world but the ability he ate might contain the will of the one who wished it into reality in the 1st world.

I think Imu is too obsessed with BIbi/lili to be a demon
He is also way too vain (walking around with a huge ass crown despite only a handfull people seeing him, flexing in elbaf)

He seems "human" to me, LARPing as a god/demon, similiar to enel

I think he is just a regular as human with acess to power we dont fully understand yet

Imu is something like this, an entity from the first world that tricked the Nerona King into freeing it then possessed him. Then the entity fanned the flames of war with the other Kingdoms against the Mighty Ancient Kingdom (Vegapunks words called it mighty and Im mixing it with the Harley text). Joyboy and friends fought back. World war 2, Imu and the other 20 Kings vs JB and his forces and JB lost.

That entity is the earth god. Or an incarnation if you wanna go that route.

One of the first twenty kings, Imu Nerona, he consumed some super unique mythical zoan (probably Devil or Lucifer) and to feed his God complex he also forced the user of Ope Ope fruit to do the immortality surgery on him.

Forcing someone to do the surgery is easy to do when you have the ability to control people.

Oda is not big on non-humans character personality or rather, forces of nature/divine.

he writes about humans, and humans desires and will, Imu is most likely a human using the devil.

very unlikely for Imu to be a literal devil, or a supernatural force of evil

You're joking but it might be something like that. Ugly girl butthurt because Soyboy was into lily. When emeth unleashed the haki Imu wasn't afraid she got wet after feeling his presence again.

Wants to eliminate Vivi who is competition
:shocking:

That something would be the entity possessing Imu.
