Luffy finally has someone to share grief with who understands him, and their relationship is such that instead Sabo stating excuses or anger, he says "Thank you for surviving". This isn't said enough, but Oda has literature level character relations.

It was just crazy cos coming off the back of his fight with Katakuri his endurance was seemingly approaching bs levels lmao. Luffy was being over-hyped in the manga, his fans were running rampant and he needed to be humbled but no one would've ever expected Plot King Luffy to be one-shotted
That one swing from Kaido broke the hearts of Luffy fans worldwide and that sound was glorious, beautiful moment
