What is your dream job? (realism not required)

#61
I'd have preferred to do what Gretchen from Disney's Recess does in the episode about adulthood/the future: clone myself a dozen times so I can follow all my interests at the same time.
I think I saw the same episode lmao. When I was little I wanted to clone myself to do all exciting jobs while watching TV. You gave me a flashback.. funny that Oda used this in OP, it's like a child's dream

Why do I feel sarcasm here?
:sus:
It's more like @Bisoromi Bear wants to hear about childhood/youthful dreams that people have and instead gets a bunch of cynics and St.Charlos-wannabes

What would it be like, living the life of a drone pilot?

Not as boring as some might think, as you're in direct control of a "flying robot" that could be worth thousands of dollars while having it move around in places where an actual person could never reach.
Very real army profession, looks cool from the videos I've seen.
But it could be also applied peacefully, for research and exploration.

Sadly this is a major problem when it comes to those very interesting fields of study.
I'd have loved to live in the Age of Discovery and do ethnological and botanical research (without the racism typical of the time) but even those often had wealthy people or kings as sponsors and the fruits of their work often exploited to conquer the lands they had studied.
Yep, that's capitalism for you. I might be naive, but I think that if everyone had their basic needs (shelter, food, hygiene) covered at a guarantee, we'd still have a functioning society, because there are people that actually find work fulfilling and interesting. My mom studied physics in-depth in school and at the uni. Her first bf ended up being a physics researcher, something he always loved from his childhood, but he had to move to the US to be able to do so and keep earning a decent wage. Their class was about 30 people who loved physics. Only one made it as a legit scientist.

Fuck purpose

There's enough video games, movies, series, anime, manga, manhwa, porn, songs, amusement parks, food, places, and experiences out there to last multiple lifetimes.

If i could quit rn and have enough money to enjoy all that without needing to work ever again, i would do it in a heartbeat
People really think you gonna die of boredom without a job:ihaha:

I would say something involving my hobbies, but I know whatever became a real job would then turn into a drag naturally. :goatasure:

Maybe a writer?
not necessarily, its still as much of a hobby for me after making it my profession.

and if not for my fiancee, i would probably drown in pet animals lul

Easy to say this when you're relatively broke but most likely you'd feel empty still. That stuff feels better when you've earned it doing something. It's not satisfying if you won the lottery and take the rest of your life off. And if you have kids it'll be tough being an actual role model, you'd just be a bum who got lucky, you wouldn't stand proud.

To answer the question though. Professional athlete. Preferably NBA or MLB player. Make millions while playing a sport I love. Now that's a dream job right there.

Well, do I have any right to complain?

Comedian/satirist. I'd spend my days professionally ragebaiting Panturcists and Indo-European supremacists, saving up money to pay private tutors to teach me various north-east Indian languages to fulfill my lifelong dream of following NE India tribal warfare discussions on YouTube.
NE India is close and culturally related to Myanmar so maybe I'd join one of the militias for the lols and even get to witness the ancient local custom of headhunting.

Main issue being my ethno/nationalistic targeted jokes aren't funny. But the rules say it doesn't have to be realistic so here we are.
Sometimes I read my old post and think 'what was this person smoking!? '🀣
