Yes I think he will be too far gone to change, I think it’s obvious he experienced something unforgivable at the hands of pirates, we’ll see his up bringing and the things that drive his ideals to the point where he’s willing to murder innocents over. I also kinda hope that theory about Hibari being his daughter ends up being true is like to see that side of him actually having something he dearly wants to protect, I think Oda already has been laying the groundwork for humanizing the character (not redeeming) and it makes him more compelling to me.

We got Kizaru, Aokiji backstories completely new without SBS summary. I'm pretty sure we are going to get Akainu backstory in full given the trend
