Watched all of Wednesday Season 2, WAY better than I expected, I absolutely loved it from start to finish, insanely improved over the 1st season!
So much heart, humour, charm, clever writing, cheekiness, much darker and more mature. The 1st season really disappointed and infuriated me towards the end but this one was MUCH better! It's a shame they split up the season into 2 halves to incentivise people to pay for an extra month of Netflix to get the rest of the episodes, but it is what it is. After watching this, I genuinely wish I could have paid for all the episodes and bought them like non-Netflix made series, like I've done for some other TV series I really love.
Genuinely one of the best series/shows I've ever seen and despite some glaring issues and changes to the Addams Family and such, I still really loved it as someone who dearly loved and idolised the Addams Family growing up too! I also think the animated movies are way better than what people say, especially the 2nd one too and desptie them making Wednesday adopted instead of a genuine Addams and Morticia and Gomez's daughter, I still really enjoyed that film.
I'm so glad the Addams Family has gotten such an amazing resurgence like this. Such a fantastic cast in this Wednesday series, cinematography, choreography, music etc were exceptional, truly! I feel so spoiled for getting to watch something this good, this enjoyable and majestic! The campsite episode which seemed like "filler", was a far more emotional episode than I expected and such BEAUTIFUL, amazing covers of famous songs in that episode and also later on.
The actresses for Enid and Agnes are so fantastic, Agnes is so hilariously unhinged yet adorable and sweet. Enid is such a sweetheart but much stronger than she appears, even literally/physically and the perfect contrast to Wednesday herself. Wednesday was far too cruel this season especially and far too dour even for herself, she really got on my nerves like in Season 1 but Jenna is fantastic as her and the body swap episode was fucking hilarious, watching her and Emma Myers (Enid) imitate each other's mannerisms and such. They're extremely close IRL and it shows here especially too.
Fuck man, you know a series is good when you're excited for the next season to come already and you feel simultaneously complete after watching it but at the same time wanting more too! Oh the irony!
Theres hundreds of things I could say this show did so well, but I will say its much more gruesome, bolder, shocking etc than I expected too, more visercal gore and killing, way more deaths than Season 1 I think and a more darker, mature tone as I mentioned before too.
I no longer hate this series but completely love it, what a turnaround lmao. I did love the series initially with season 1 but grew to hate it immensely with the awful finale of season 1 though.
