A stalemate is achieved after Naoya's Domain. Somebody will get seriously injured while Naoya will scram for now and return later

I agree. Only problem is Noaya is not cunning, he has his pride and like to crush his opponents.

Whatever happens, it will be a suprise. It is a good cliff hanger, ngl.
This fight made Hakari vs Charles' fight look good.

Yeah, that's what makes me doubt my prediction since I can't see this Naoya, a VENGEFUL spirit, run away without getting vengance

I see Maki and Naoya in the same manner as Yuji and Mahito but more one-sided on Maki's side. Naoya exists solely to antagonize Maki on a fundamental level but whatever he does, Maki will always find a way to surpass or beat him. She is the Wolf while he is the Rabbit. Naoya busting out DE won't change that on a fundamental level.
