He may participate in fight but killing is a shit move from Oda. Luffy is the one who has to defeat main antagonist and kill his dreams and that has been the theme of One Piece. And one of the protagonists killing antagonists on screen is what never happened in the manga. Of course I won't drop OP for this.
Also, Zoro killing Kaido is as lame as someone defeating/killing Posthawk before he fights Zoro.

The denial is good, you can still act surprised when it happens.
With the last reserve of his strength Luffy lands the "final" blow, Kaido falls down, Luffy falls down too, unable to move like in every battle.
*5 minutes later*
Kaido is recovered and back on his feet:
Meanwhile Luffy is out, he cant recover like a Zoan. What then?
You see? The final blow doesnt cut it. The killing blow is what is needed and we all know it wont come from Luffy.

Okay Zoro fans, lets say for the sake of the Zorohaters and Rubber-nut-huggers like Morj that Kaido doesn't die.
Would we be happy if Zoro uses the aura where he makes his opponents foresee their death on Kaido?
Like lets say Zoro is fighting Kaido, goes to kill him but instead of killing him, he shows Kaido that he could kill him. Something similar like what he did to Monet, but more Bad ass.
This way Luffy-nut-huggers and Zorohaters who believe Kaido can't die because its his wish, will get their wish.
And us, followers of the Grandmaster, get Zoro killing a Yonko with his stronk aura alone. Everybody wins!!!
