McCoy, Tennant, Smith, and Capaldi.
I couldn't tolerate more than 2 or 5 episodes of each, skipping to the next one thinking maybe a different version or later episodes would be more to my liking. I tuned off Whittaker after just 10 minutes. I tried giving the Baker version a chance ages ago but the picture on the episodes my dad had were just too blurry for my liking. I never gave the Eccleston version a chance though, but even if it is better, I've got too many anime series and films in my backlog to give it a go for the time being.
Fair. Lol. I only watched and enjoyed the Eccleston and Tenant eras on the regular. I got bored of the Matt Smith era, wasn't that enamored with the Capaldi era and I absolutely detested everything I saw from the Whittaker and Gatwa eras.
The Eccleston era was short and sweet with only a single series (13 episodes), so that is the one I remember most fondly. I think Eccleston was arguably the best actor of the new era along with Tenant. Eccleston absolutely killed it in the Last Dalek episode, my favourite one.
But aye, Doctor Who isn't a series I would recommend to anybody now. It gets too long and convoluted to hold a coherent story after such a lengthy runtime. Especially with the new show runners completely retconning decades established canon just for a new nonsensical plot point that goes absolutely nowhere.
It doesn't help that I'm not a fan of shows that go on for too long, One Piece having been the sole exception.
Doctor Who is even worse than show that goes on for too long. It is a show that will never end. Not until the BBC itself dies, which isn't going to happen anytime soon since it's government funded.
