Speculations When Oda created Kidd he said he knew

Luffy:
- Allied himself with Law, who he could trust. He then allied himself with Bege and did well.
- Defeated two Sweet Commanders.
- Increased his reputation to become the "Fifth Emperor".
Kid:
- Allied with Hawkins and Apoo, who betrayed him in an instant.
- He lost, presumably, against a Sweet Commander.
- His reputation has stagnated for 2 years, defeat after defeat.
So for now, Kid has no power, no allies and no reputation to be considered a great pirate.

kidd's flashback will be all vegapunk and being property of the celestial dragons

kidd has anger problems but is otherwise big brained. consider how small his crew is and that killer is basically just his top fighter. kidd is probably his own shipwright (mechanical knowledge, cyborg tech, etc) and navigator (magnet powers let him sail without a log pose because he is the log pose) and i think its likely he's got a really weird relationship to the crew.
he could literally be frankys biological brother lol. one is red and one is blue, and they're both from the south blue.
i think kidd was a wg slave for a while and probably had close contact with vegapunk at some point and his flashback will be about that stuff

I'm not saying Kid doesn't deserve to be on the roof. I'm sure that after Wano his reputation will increase thanks to his alliance with Luffy, as it happened with Law in DR and Bege in WCI. But I have yet to see anything that implies that Kid is as strong as he claims to be. I mean, right now I don't see him beating enemies that Luffy defeated like Crocodile, Enel, Doffy or Katakuri.
I expect Kid to play a significant role on the rooftop, perhaps not the most significant or even second most but definitely an important one. Post-Wano is the question, whether he'll continue to be a significant figure in the world or fade off into obscurity. I think he'll take a spot as a strong pirate but I'm not sure where he'll be in the arcs to come. I'd expect to see him in the next huge event or war.
That's my strong sensation based off portrayal and hype of course. He has both to show at least the third best feats out there... and I think that will more likely be the case. Oda is hardly making him a sitting duck, he will probably channel new attacks in, the fact that Oda wasn't giving him much showing is suspicious and I feel he holds something in store for him. And now Luffy is out too for a little while.
This has been true from the arc they were introduced and it is still true now. When Oda introduced the Supernova, only two captains were given a vice captain who is also a super rookie. Luffy and Kidd, that should have been the first sign that Oda wanted to portray Luffy and Kidd as a step above the other captains. (Coincidentally these two were also the only Supernova who had a bounty in the 300 millions when they met up on Saboady and were also the only two Supernova to state their dream of becoming PK in that very same arc).
I think after Wano, Kidd will be Luffy's main rival for the One Piece and Pirate King title.
Law is officially Luffy's pal whether he like it or not, plus the One Piece and Pirate King title are not Law's main objectives. Taking down the WG, and learning about the Will of D is.
Kidd want's the One Piece & PK title just as badly as Luffy.
I have a theory that Kidd may try to kidnap Robin, officially making him Luffy's enemy.
