--Drunken mode Kaido vs Base/G4 Luffy - 10/10. Peak choreography.

--Kaido vs G5 is a mixed bag. The fact that luffy was simply tanking Kaido's attack took away impact of the fight and luffy was playing around too much.

Wano arc was already too long then there was this fight that was too long too, filled with BS and plot armor at the highest level, lose and come back stronger multiple times is a recipe for disaster. It was one of those fights you start to root for the villain just because the luck the MC is getting is disgusting.

G4 Luffy vs Kaido was fun to watch however when Oda switch it up with gear 5. It was ehh. I didn't like how Oda back peddled when he say Oda won't be defeated by a punch. I still remember the giant sword in Onigashima. It would of been cool if we saw giant g5 Luffy pull that sword out and slash Kaido down with advance CoC and CoA. But noo a miss opportunity to use the environment.

Heck Oda could of made that sword into a supreme grade curse sword and be called the Dragon slayer or any cliche name.

Heck even Kid could of use that sword against LinLin. But nope..

It's the most enjoyable fight for me so far. I like the dynamic that was built up between Luffy and Kaido, and I also quite liked the creativity of not just Gear 5 but Kaido's fighting style too (e.g. grabbing Luffy with his mouth and blasting him through Onigashima). The anime also elevated the fight to new heights, so I might be biased because of that.

The fight was essentially Luffy climbing a mountain (Kaido) to reach the summit (Yonko level and ready to go after the PK title), so I appreciate what it did for Luffy's growth overall in that sense. Now if only Oda would let Luffy use the haki he learned alongside G5 in Egghead...
