Future Events Where will the story lead Akainu?

#21
@Erkan12 ''We know Kaido > Akainu''
I have always considered Akainu > Kaido. Still am.
Akainu made post gura Teach and all his level 6 crew flee with his hands in his Pockets.
So no we don't know.
E.Oda confirmed in SBS, it is Kaido > Akainu.

Blackbeard wasn't a Yonko at the moment, and fighting with Akainu for no reason would be an idiotic move. It's no different than Luffy escaping from Sentoumaru after the time-skip, and Doflamingo running away from Tsuru. It was a strategic move. We already know Blackbeard challenged every marine before in mf battle that includes Akainu. And he fought Sengoku + Garp which is collectively superior to Akainu.

My wild and weird guess is that Luffy and Akainu will be teaming up against BB and WG.....:goyea:

Akainu and Luffy teaming up is fun to watch

A question that interests me. We can guess the fate of the Yonko. Kaido will probably go down in Wano, as Big Mom will. Shanks will probably be killed by Blackbeard, while Blackbeard and Luffy will fight for the throne.

What is Akainu's role though? Will he rebel against the WG and the Gorosei, ultimately killing them off? Will he be the final opponent? Will he be killed or beaten? By whom? Will he stay FA or in the marines? Where will Akainu EOS be? Maybe he will undestand by then, that his absolute justice was moronic and is only a way for the WG to force their will upon others. Becoming a warm hearted individual who spends his time fostering trees.

@Admiral Lee Hung @TheAncientCenturion @Bogard @Sentinel @ShishioIsBack @playa4321 etc.
Luffy is destined to fight Akainu for what he did to Ace in MF war and i suppose Oda will lead things in way for that to happen.

Akainu will lead the Admirals against the SHs and will be the last shield of WG.

Very doubtful. Mid-bosses like Chinjao or Cracker have very little build up, their defeat doesn't signify a massive turning point in the arc. But Akainu is representative of Absolute Justice, he's the head of the Marines, he's been an active player in the One Piece world since Marineford. Defeating him means a massive narrative shift as he should be the strongest pillar upholding the Marines. Oda doesn't like resolution happening before the end of the arc when all the victories accumulate at once and give the conclusion that much more weight and the reader feels all the satisfaction.

There's a much higher chance Sabo fights Akainu while Luffy fights Im. It's possible every single Admiral is defeated halfway through the arc and Im-sama requires a team battle to go down a la Madara/Kaguya. But this creates the same narrative mess that was Naruto's final arc, not to mention the power inflation, I have to hope Oda saw the obvious flaws and won't go down that route.

akainu could be like the proper battle of luffy and haki and stuff, while Im could just hold some powerful item like ancient weapon that once he loses it he is over.

luffy and akainu had too much going on for someone else to take him. the way sabo thinks his little bro still needs protection, sabo losing to akainu, and luffy saving him and beating akainu like he could not do with ace would be fitting.

It has nothing to do with Luffy and Sentomaru, Teach and his Crew needed a ship and had a hostage to trade but still abandonned everything as soon as they saw Akainu ALONE.
Bb didn't challenge shit, he flexed his new fruit but then Garp and Sengoku put him back to his place with one move.
He was just using the chaos and as soon as everything seemed calmer he fled...

Luffy will fight him 1v1 and defeat him. However despite him killing his brother, luffy will choose to spare his life. This will make him question his beliefs that all pirates are evil and in doing so, it will make him question his own sense of justice.

Ultimately, Akainu will realize that he has been serving a false version of justice all this time. He will nominate Koby to be admiral just before jumping into the ocean and killing himself.
