Pre. Crocodile, Enel and Lucci were all really great big arc villains.

Moria was a stumble but the entire Marineford saga has so many great antagonists that it almost feels unfair to include it since post-TS hasn't hit that type of climactic arc yet.

OP fans misunderstood the theme of his character. Which is why people thinks he's a trash villain.

Hody's philosophy of "nothingness" makes him an interesting villain. Not every villains needs a reason to be evil.

Pre: CP9, Baroque Works were written well
Post: Only Doffy written well, but Beast Pirates had fire designs and abilities

The number one problem I had with his execution is his connection with vander decken.

I think vanders involvement in this arc distracted way too much from the actual theme and Hody and really watered it down through vanders shitty gags and actual pedophilia.

I feel like Fishman Island would’ve been a fine arc if it was just about the fishman pirates.

Pre-ts villains had dreams and motives+aspirations they wanted to bring to light

Post-ts villains just seem like they just exist for powerscaling reasons. Big Mom is somewhat a close second after doffy though

Fair. Vander Decken is the only shitty villain of the arc. His screentime as the secondary antagonist takes away too much of Hody's character potential.

Reminds me of Orochi and Kaido plot but at least Orochi is a good villain.
