Dbz was only successful because there were no alternatives. Hollow characters, shit plot, shit consistency, limitless powerlevelfuckery at its finest, basically just a cash cow for toriyama. Proven by the fact that he was out of money (prolly spent all of it on cocain and escorts) and started an ever bigger apeshit with DBS with the same flaws but ten times worse + recycling of the old shit to awaken some nostalgy in the original fandom. But they're adults now, toriyama. Which is why only 9-11yos are reading your shit ass manga.

Dbz. Sayan and Namek saga are the best ones in Dragonball as a whole, Cell is not bad at all and Buu saga was still acceptable.
OP is second, it is going on for years but what I saw that is really good until now was probably G4 reveal, minks hiding Raizou and... Nothing else? For sure DBZ gave way more emotions.
Naruto part 2 was its downfall. First the Gaara resurrection bullshit then the whole leaf village resurrection bullshit and talk no jutsu. Still 3rd place without a doubt, OP has still to go downhill quite a bit to reach Naruto.

One piece by far.
Naruto came back mostly the same, he went training for almost 2 years and the world was mostly the same, Akatsuki barely did a move, only few upgraded a rank yet they didnt seemed that strong.
While One Piece, it is better how Oda introduced how the world has changed and Luffy did increase his level.

Was GOAT that set the stage for anime in general. At least until Cell saga it was great, IMO is became shit after Cell saga.
One piece actually fell off after timeskip. So it's the worst.
Naruto Shippuden was great until pain arc. But after pain arc, with the exception of Madara as the sole positive, it was shit.
