Arimaki called Yamato's Haki strong, so it's only natural they'd be impressed by Shanks's Haki. And it doesn't matter how incredible it is, it's still just a blast of Haki wave, which, before Ari, was only used to KO fodder. That's literally him intimidating the Treeman just by raising his Haki. The fact that Shanks did what he did without physically being anywhere near the admiral makes it one of the most humiliating things that has ever happened to a top-tier.

1. Shanks intercept Kaido with a full SHP crew, if Kaido & King went to Marineford, all SHP can go to Wano (full force)
2. Kaido doesn't know if Shanks will go to Marineford. We know because we're the readers, Kaido didn't. So Kaido wouldn't threaten him "I will go to your territory if you go to MF" because he doesn't know if Shanks were to go there. By the time he knows via news, Shanks already gone back.
