so.....
@Nidai_Kitetsu said i should check out this thread to show you younglings the greantness of yujiro hanma and why he is the best dad in the world. yujiro hanma father of baki hanma (protagonist) is considered by everyone in the world to be the strongest man in the world, he has shown off feats that would be considered impossible, such as: walking though lightning like its a breeze, snapping a kitana with your thumb, stopping an earthquake by slamming the ground and my personal favourite getting out of a submission my punching the ground away. he can also master any martial arts technique by looking at it once.
yujiro hanma is nicknamed ''the ogre'', because of the technique where he flexes the muscles in his back to make it look like a demons face, this technique makes him even stronger than he already is.
but, why is he such a great villain. well the entire point of the baki series is that baki must surpass his father after he
. so baki eventually meets with his did in the early parts of the series... and baki gets absolutely decimated.
it took another 3 parts to finally confront his father again. and by confronting i mean actually fighting him, he does meet up with his father at some points in the story. but.... slowly throughout the series baki seems to get less angry with his father and tolerating him more. even to the point that he teamed up with him in a tournament and after baki won his match with 1 attack he gave his father a high five.
yujiro is the perfect obstacle ive ever seen in a manga. because of the influence he has baki eventually finds out that he isnt much different from his father. and this really shows in their final match (Which lasted 50 chapters btw WTF), where baki eventually did lose again. but through the determination that baki showed during their match, he said that he sees baki as the strongest in the world.
yujiros story is the story of a man who lives in freedom, but with boredom at the same time. because he is the strongest in the world he has no challenges left, there is nothing left to excite him. except the thought that his son might surpass him the future. he puts his own son through heart breaking events (killing loved ones and friend, traumatizing events) all for the sole purpose of giving him a challenge. and when he finally had that final match he felt a sensation that he lost so many years ago. btw in some very very very rare panels you can see yujiros sadness through his maniacal persona.
now lets all praise the ogre.
