General & Others Who do like more in OP?....Marines or Pirates??

Who do you like more in One Piece world??

There are some good marines like Garp, Fuji and Smoker, but mostly of them are just governament dogs, that do everthing to protect the upper classes and say it is in the name of peace. The worst kind of scum 🤮

The Pirates however live by them own will and have the freedom to escape the governament claws and do as they please, with no responsability with things like peace and order.

It depends under which light you want to see this.

If I was in OP world and I had to choose between joining pirates or marines then it would be marines.

Take aside Luffy and an some other crews the pirates are generally a bunch or raiders or even killers who have little care for other human beings. The WG core is corrupted (since they have to follow CD and gorosei orders) and their ultimate aim is evil too (do IM's will) yet we have a system which offers some kind of protection to the people (if any yonko bar Shanks takes the power the world would become a jungle where the strong survives and the weak dies everywhere) and if we do a bit of stats the marines have a lot of good people in it (Garp, Smoker, Aokiji, Tashigi etc etc) while forbthe pirates it is the other way around. Even the best crew among pirates (SH) in the end they care just about their adventure while acting good in their journey, but in the end they go on no matter what kind of situation they leave the people on the islands where they fought (the fact that every problem magically disappears and the situation is perfect when the villain is defeated is another matter) while at least the good marines have a quest to better the world the live in.

If we want just to see which is more likable as powers and characters go then pirates of course. Pirate world has a complex structure where there are very different crews or groups of power with different aims so completely different characters, the will of D which is the background force which fuels this fight in the ages, lot of cool and very different powers while marines on the other hand have their fleet admiral (magma logia) with his 3 admirals (2 and probably 3 logias again), then in some arc some VA or Smoker and Tashigi appear as agents of justice so not so thrilling here, the best news about them is this Sword group and what Aokiji is doing (if he still counts as a marine), then we are waiting for green bull but all the thrilling questions are in the pirate world (BB, Xebec, Raftel, will of D) while marines seems just some sort of shoulder actor to the real main actor which is the pirate world (well, no surprise here XD).

Marines are sidekick to Imu and they are fools that they don't even know who they actually serve because they don't even know the existance of Imu.

At least pirates knows who they serve and they are definitely capable of doing anything they want unlike the marine sidekicks of Imu. Not only the marines are stupidly serving someone they don't even know, or accepting the celestial dragon rule and they are still obeying the regular marine rules while doing it. You must be joking if you choose the marines in this series which takes place in the age of pirates also.

The marines are joke, not even that fool Garp committed himself fully to the marines, because he always declined the admirality offer.

Marines right now seem like brainwashed giants blinded by the idea of absolute justice. The honorable ones are either ignored or are against the piracy in general too.

On one side, you have a group of cruel, sociopathic authoritarians, exploiting the people who reside in their territories for wealth and power.

On the other, you have the marines.

Nearly all marines have fundamentally good motives and a genuine interest in making the op world a better place. The ones few would argue against are Coby, Smoker, Tashigi, Fujitora, Garp, Hina, Saul, Tsuru, Drake, Maynard and even more. Bad apples like Morgan and Nezumi are blatantly corrupt, but by the numbers, are the exception and not the rule. Sengoku and Akainu with their methods are more controversial.

The marine admirals are also insanely powerful, with the best devil fruits and best training out there.
