Zoro's role isn't a role per se, every pirate is a combatant, other question would be about who does better in their roles and who could be replaced easier.
Probably Luffy is the worst captain in the whole series, but he's also irreplaceable in terms of strength and as a character story wise.
The most boring crew member is Jimbei, It's been shown that his helmsman skills are top tier but still if I had to change someone it would be Jimbei

Usopp is doing unique things in the story, he is a jack of all trades. Zoro on the other side is more replaceable. Give character x a sword and scale their power upwards and e voila you have a second zoro.

Replacability is usually based on who or what is the most redundant. If someone is more redundant and has less value than the other then they get replaced. As ez as that. Anyway, probably Jinbe. They had no troubles sailing before and Oda just hasn't shown any emphasis on the importance of great helmsmanship, so, I don't see a reason to care about it for now.
Lots of people saying Usopp and Zoro don't understand that you still need to be really great at those roles. The average Joe can't do what Usopp did in Dressrosa nor could they do what Zoro did against Kaido or King.

Brook is pretty useful outside of his music. Namely his soul fruit. In Punk Hazard he could use his soul to observe the outside of PH while captured. In WCI he stood his ground against Big Mom and stole the Road Poneglyph. Wouldn't be surprised if his powers have some use case against Imu too.
Zoro is a pure combatant but extremely useful due to his power level.
Usopp seems objectively the most useless. Weak fighter ans no use outside of combat either. Even Nami has better combat feats, especially now with Zeus.

Wallahi put me in the onepiece verse and I’m replicating everything Usopp has done and doing far more.
