Pain vs Jiraya was amazing I agree and I can put it above Ace vs BB. But saying A vs B is farrrre below isn’t quite true either.

Till this 90% of op fans rant how oda off screened that fight lol

pain didnt need 20 years of buildup and mystery/fake hype to be goated. Kishi just straight up made pain amazing in 100 ( more or less ) chapters. For that reason alone Pain will always be over BB imo.

BB started off well then fell off a cliff hard in post time skip just like every other character. Maybe if we actually see BB do things post time skip then this will be less of a beat down but comparing one of the greatest antagonist in Shounen to BB is blasphemy.

BB has more potential but Oda's writting style limits his potential. All his major fights were off paneled . On other hand Pain had entire arc focused on him...so for now its Pain

Pain is cliche as fuck from his flashback with Jiraiya to talk no jutsu, completely void of any actual character. The only interesting aspect about his character is the mystery of how his 6 clones functioned.

Blackbeard on the other hand is this fat chad who cannot stop stacking wins, he began his journey as a cabin boy and now attends your funeral after he kills you
There is no room for comparion

Right now pain is the pretty obvious choice, although blackbeard fits well into one piece and is the epitome of a real world pirate as far as personality goes and has the potential to be better than pain. Unfortunately I don't see oda having blackbeard kill off anyone significant other than garp which really won't be anywhere near as impactful as pain killing jiraiya (permanently) and half of the hidden leaf village including kakashi and hinata (temporarily).

Even if blackbeard were to kill garp, koby, pudding, and law it still wouldn't be as significant as what pain did. Honestly he would have to kill a strawhat for it to hit the feels like jiraiyas death and oda won't do that.

But still I say we should revisit this question after blackbeard has his arc rather than just a few panels here and there every several years.
