Or he may rather wait to be sure that Weevil can't pose a threat to Sphinx Island and its inhabitants for good before moving. Just because the warlords system has been abolished doesn't mean that the marines will be of stopping Weevil and Bakkin nor of distracting them long enough for them to stop being a potential threat to WB's homeland.
OT: Any remaining Whitebeard/Roger Pirates would be badass, but what if it’s someone outside the box? Someone like, I don’t know...DRAGON AND THE REVOLUTIONARIES?! *record scratch*

Shichibukai system was abolished a week ago. Then the Marines went after Weevil. The Marines could have captured Weevil by now (unlikely but SSG's might would be portrayed with such high profile arrest).
We don't know what has happened to the Shichibukai. But the newspapers do. Plus the Government exerts significant control over the newspapers, so they can just make it look like that they have taken care of Shichibukai to save their face.
All of these can prompt Marco to think that it is safe to leave Sphinx island.

Marco is more than qualified to know that there are strong chances than the marines may have been unable of capturing or killing Weevil. Plus newspapers have proved more than once that they were far from being a fully reliable source.
As long as Marco isn't sure that Weevil and Ms Bakkin's threat is over I doubt he'll leave Sphinx Island.
Of course it's Marco and his entire crew. Now that Weevil is not a Shichibukai anymore, the chance of Marco and his crew appearing in Wano is very high.
