His Body is 43 Years Old
But He has Two People Living inside him
Body's Owner & an Ancient Knight

Double-Layered Eyes appear when both achieve Perfect Fusion, it indicates that Two People are looking through those Eyes Simultaneously
And They can switch Control (Who Leads this Fusion, similar to how Goku & Vegeta can either Fuse to Vegito or Gogeta). I don't know if Mihawk is Name of Body's Owner or Ancient Knight

Oda already showed this with Cavendish, He is a 26 Years Old Prince who shares his Body with Hakuba
Hakuba is an Ancient Knight (Even though They use Same Sword & Body/Physical Stats, Hakuba is Superior because He has more Experience/Training/Fighting-Style)

When They managed to Fuse Temporarily during Dressrosa Arc, their Eyes turned Double-Layered.
Same thing for Imu, Body We see is probably of a Young Girl, but an Ancient Knight shares that Body with her
Hence why Imu is actually Combination of Names (Adam + Eve), cuz it's a Young Girl being Host for an Ancient Knight

Zunisha also have Double-Layered Eyes cuz Someone's Presence is Kept inside it, but He only sees through Zunisha's Eyes, doesn't take Control cuz Zunisha doesn't Switch with him, and it's why Zunisha isn't allowed to Die nor Land, and when Roger/Oden reached Zou, They sensed an Evil Presence (It wasn't same Feeling They had with Poneglyphs or Sea Kings, They really felt Uncomfortable)

So just like Fruits become Host to Devils turning them into Devil Fruits, there are certain Devils who are Superior than those inside Fruits, as They are able to Possess Humans directly, and just like DFs Users can reach "Awakening" when They manage to Sync with their Devils in Mind & Body, those Human Hosts also have their own "Awakening" where their Mind/Body Sync with Presence inside them (Mihawk & Imu are only Humans shown so far who managed such Feat, hence why Imu sat on Empty Throne & why Mihawk became World's Greatest Swordsman, and based on Crocodile's Comments, Mihawk was apparently Betrayed & was supposed to be One of Mary Geoise Leaders, cuz these Ancient Knights such as Hakuba are none other than Founders of WG)

So Ancient Knight Living inside Mihawk was just like DFs jumping from One Host to Another, and finally He is inside a Host who reached Awakening & They Fused, Mihawk's Dream isn't to find Someone who can beat him in an Extreme Diff, He is looking for Someone who can force him to Switch & let Ancient Knight Fight instead, that's Mihawk's Trump Card & the reason Zoro's Dream is One of Ten Impossible Dreams

Zoro isn't gonna have an Extreme Diff with Shanks Rival, He is gonna have an Extreme Diff with a Swordsman who had Centuries & Centuries of Sword Training, a Single Lifetime Training/Experience isn't Enough to beat such Opponent, that's why Zoro have the Unique Ability of Tripling his Stats (Asura), it's what allows him to Surpass what a Human can learn in a Single Lifetime

Imu is just One of Founders, All of them Rule together
It's just that They need the Person who can Awaken them all

One Piece World is like Thriller Bark
You will soon Witness it's Moria, it's Hogback, it's Absalom, it's Perona, it's Oars, it's General Zombies, it's Zombie Ryuma, it's Tararan ... etc

Judging from his attire and care of his sword he might even be from Old Wano.
Maybe him and Ryuma were even brothers (And Ethan was given a royal name by Imu), friends, or just rivals of some description.

It all depends on how old the Gorosei truly are

Given Saturn was the same age at God Valley I think it can show them being immortal and being from the void century / WG creation

What if they did it themselves.
Just a thought , to focus with one eye than two.
Just saying.
Swordsman tend to loose their sharpness if they loose focus.
