Break Week Who was the most underwhelming and most overwhelming Charachter in Wano Kuni for you Guys? (In terms of who surprised you the most in both regards)

If I just had to pick one of each:

Underwhelming: Obvious answer would be Big Mom, but since that's already said I'll say the Big Mom Pirates. Oda either just didn't care about continuity in the slightest, or he literally forgot they existed.

Overwhelming: Marco holding off King and Queen was surprising

It probably goes without saying these days that almost everything about Wano was garbage though, it would be a perfect example to students of how not to write a story. (I'm still salty, Oda is a hack.)

So you think Marco holding King and queen who didn't seem to went all out is more impressive than what Kaido showed?

True I really had high expectations for X-Drake. Yea the scabbards were underwhelming overall BUT i do consider the 4 Scabbards who used the "Oden Nitoryu" vs Kaido still above all Tobbi Roppos in terms of strength
When base Neko(who’s stronger than Kinemon and on par with denjiro and ashura doji) was losing to Pero, I lost faith in the scabbards completely I’ll be honest.

I think for most characters that showed surprising strength their feats came out of nowhere and were complete nonsense, like Law and Kidd who with the way the fight was written had no business winning at all. Zoro's blocking of Meme and Kaido's combo attack was amazing, but was quickly overshadowed by the magic mink medicine negating all the consequences. I guess Chopper slamming Queen (even though it did not amount to much), and Winbei come to mind after as for impressive. Oh, and Guernica as someone already pointed out.

As for Kaido, yeah as a fighter his feats were amazing, but it was all undercut by how Oda couldn't be bothered to actually give him any clear motivation or explanation for his personality at all. I think looking back, Kin'emon just walking off the Thunder Bagua to the skull plus the sword in his spine, for the most bullshit reason ever, made me really dislike Kaido as a character too. At that point it was clear that whatever he did there was going to be zero consequences for the "alliance" characters, despite being the most crazy strong villain we've seen to date.

I know it's not common in One Piece for there to be consequences, but at the end of Wano, the suicide mission against two Yonkou in one's territory resulted in zero permanent scars/bodily harm, and only two deaths of characters nobody cared about or that had importance. That sort of writing just ruined my interest in Kaido (and Big Mom).

This thread is not about characterization but who was most impressive power wise. No way Marco was more impressive than Kaido in that regard.

Zoro performed well, idk how he's underwhelming to some. Unless you're ZKK person which was impossible expectations anyway.

Underwhelming - Kaidou. As an Antagonist he didn't live up to the hype.
Oda didn't even bother giving him proper respect against a newly introduced Oden. Kaidou was strong but the way he's written wasn't impressive.

Over: Luffy, Kaido, Law, Zoro, King, Ulti...

Under: Big Mom, Queen, F6, Numbers

Jack was genuinely fine. I don't see why peeps are saying his name. The Ming fight made him respect him even more. Bro was swatting them like flies. Can't really take any credit from him just because he's scared of his seniors, who're even more monstrous than him.

Even though I shit on BM a lot I wouldn't say she was really underwhelming. After multiple surprise attacks and BS they still needed the miracle of the floor collapsing under her or else they would honestly lose. Even together, they're just straight up weaker than her.

However I can't defend her from stuff like the Jinbe/Robin/Franky disrespect, that was just straight up disgusting.

Jack really had the biggest downfall. Went from arguably more intimidating than Kaidou himself, to a cute fluffy elephant.
Good old 2015 Jack with his 1 billion bounty hype that made Doffy looked like a total chump 😔

OT:
Most overwhelming must be King. All those durability hype Kaido got since his debut, unkillable, fell from Sky Island with headache, execution machine broke trying to execute him, to Boundman did 0 damage.
Only to find out there is another monster with even better durability than Kaido in his crew.

Another underwhelming beside Jack is Kidd.
I thought for sure Kidd gonna got PH / Dressrosa Law treatment: one shot Vergo and cut mountain, and Gamma Knife Doffy.

Ended up being total useless. Damsel in Udon.
Oda purposely made him left before he began Luffy's advanced CoA training plot. Did nothing in Rooftop. Contributed less than Law again in Big Mom fight.

I stopped at kaidou and didn't write zoro to save myself some time from 15 pages of time explaining why to zoro haters.
:josad::josad:
Lol, be brave bro, the Zoro fandom is always ready to fight any fandom, never forget that, though some retards are not even worth replying to.

Forgot to add King to over whelming, after Kata what most thought there ceiling off YCs would be was completely shattered by King. And post Wano it's becoming even clearer.
