General & Others Who will take out Shanks?

I think there are 4 distinct possibilities:
  1. Luffy
  2. Blackbeard
  3. Kid and Law
  4. World Government
In Luffy vs Shanks, Shanks would be the final obstacle for Luffy. A greater threat than Blackbeard or Kaido. Possibly the final villain. This makes sense as in chapter 1, Luffy proclaimed he would surpass Shanks. The only issue is that Shanks is a swordsman and Zoro wants to be WSSM, so I feel like there might be a bit of a conflict in the narrative if Luffy beats Shanks or if Shanks is the final villain.

In Blackbeard vs Shanks, Shanks is sacrificed to hype up Teach. I think this is the worst possibility and the least likely to happen, despite it being a very popular theory. I say this because I just feel like it is a waste of Shanks's character. I just don't think Teach deserves to get hyped up by means of killing or defeating Shanks. Shanks is simply too important for him to be used and thrown out in such a way. Yet it could happen.

For Kid and Law vs Shanks, in this scenario Oda basically does the wano formula in elbaf. The Elbaf arc will be a free for all battle. Kid and Law, having lost their poneglyphs in the current battles they are facing, will ally with Luffy to get revenge on the other yonko. Luffy defeats Teach 1v1, Kid and Law defeat Shanks 2v1. I think this could work, as Kid and Law are supernovas of the worst generation, and major allies of Luffy. Them defeating Shanks would signify that Luffy has surpassed Shanks, with Shanks being defeated by the generation he fostered.

I think the world government defeating Shanks would be a very fulfilling and climactic ending to his character. In this scenario, I envision him getting the Whitebeard treatment, and dying in the final war after fighting an entire army of marines and taking countless wounds. This would basically cement shanks as one of the all time greats and would overall be one of the best endings he could get.

Overall, I feel like these are the 4 major possibilities for how Shanks could go down. Let me know which one y'all think is most likely.

"Hello As many of you know we are nearing the end of one piece. Oda Sensei himself said the manga Is about 80 % done. How though? We still have so much to cover... however I believe that after wano we will have one final arc before we find one piece. Elbaf. Where is Elbaf ? Elbaf is the land of giants AND the strongest country in the world. A very popular theory is this is where we’re going to meet shanks. shanks ship (like much of shanks character) is based on ancient Viking lore. This ship is extremely similar to the Viking long ship drakkar ship Shanks himself is based on the Norse god tyr, who like shanks is one handed. Shanks and tyr share many similarities. They both were renowned for their swordsmanship. Their justness. And their red hair. Tyr was know as the god of war, Law and justice. Which is weird because the God of Elbaf who we don’t know yet is pretty known for those three traits little garden god of Elbaf Could Dorry have been talking about shanks ? Is shanks the fair god of Elbaf ? I don’t know but one thing that always make me think is shanks encounter with kidd. I mean he cut his fucking arm off. Why ? Was it justice ? Was kidd who is known for murdering and destroying villages brought before shanks ? To understand the role of Norse mythology in one piece I think we need to dive deeper. Tyr lost his arm to one of Loki’s children, the beast wolf fenrir. This sacrifice had to be made to maintain order. Shanks risks his hand to a sea king. That sacrifice was made to hopefully bring order (luffy). There are too many parallels to name and your welcome to do some more research but one of my favourite is the story of how tyr dies. Tyr was prophesized to die in the hands of garmr. In many stories garmr is hels (guardian of the underworld) demon dog. In many iterations he is known to have three heads. Blackbeard’s Jolly Roger. The ending of one piece will be based off the events if ragnarok and this will all kick of on Elbaf."

Tbf, does this make sense anymore lol?

- Egghead was next, not Elbaf

- Shanks was confirmed to be leaving Elbaf this chapter.

Shanks being allies with Elbaf (or at least Dorry/Broggy) is a good call, but in the end his story likely isnt even there.

Well, Oda loves to be unpredictable and I'm sure this is one of the least expected ways for Shanks to leave the scene. Furthermore, Mihawk is looking forward to someone capable of surpassing Shanks, it is the best way for Zoro to prove himself worthy of a new duel. I think I'll even make a bet thread about it.

Op's speculation wasnt 100% spot on
but the connection to elbaf and the likely inspiration (tyr) for his character seems apt
you can even take a look at his ship and draw a similar connection to elbaf.
