The Roger Pirates might have been as stupid as the Mugiwaras that still have 5-6 crew members without basic haki while fodder in Amazon Lily all have it.

DBZ fighters on the other hand all got Kamehameha as a technique even though none can compare to Goku as his output is much higher. Well, except guys like Piccolo and Vegeta that already had their own versions (might be same case with Rayleigh as a Vegeta with his own version).

A 15 year old Shanks having better Haki prowess than Prime Rayleigh, who's just as strong if not stronger than the current prime Shanks, is like the most brain-dead argument you can come up with to hype a character.

It’s not that anyone could use the technique but didn’t want to it’s that they straight up couldn’t

Rayleigh gaban oden = couldn’t even mimic it
Shanks = only one capable of copying it
You first need to be interested in something to be able to learn it

What other Roger Pirates are sword users?
Oda named and drew several sword using Roger Pirates in a SBS

There is no proof Rayleigh tried doing Kamusari though. Other Roger pirates don't matter much in this discussion. Unless oda states even ray can't do it if he tried , its not a concrete proof he can't do it.
Rayleigh 100% matters in this discussion. Him and Gaban were the only notable Roger members. There is no point in adding this sentence to hype up Shanks if his only other competition were Tobi Roppo level members. In fact, this sentence pretty much alludes to Rayleigh. He’s the only guy that the readers would naturally think of who can even have a chance to mimic Roger‘s moves… and Oda straight up said that only Shanks can. That’s where the hype starts landing, if he successfully made you realize that not even somebody as good as Rayleigh can do it.

It's hype if a 15 year old pulls off shit that a F6 member couldn't. Top tiers are not your average standard to hype kids even if it's Shanks.

I am fine with it tbh. I do have shanks above ray anyways. But given ray is more so partner of roger , I doubt he ever tried to copy him. Ray probably has his own version of kamusari.

Lots of headcanon to when he even learned it.
We’re not even sure if this was really kid Shanks that Oda was talking about. For all we know, this can be years down the line and some notable members saw up and coming Shanks doing Roger’s moves.

15 year old Shanks might have been way stronger than a F6 already, who dictated that Shanks hasn’t unlocked acoc by this time? Divine Departure is most likely Roger’s own signature acoc attack. Basically, the nuances of when Shanks learned it is up for debate. What’s not up to debate is that Oda explicitly stated that only Shanks can even mimic it, Rayleigh is of no exception to this as he is the most prominent/strongest Roger pirate as I’ve said. The natural guy you’ll think of when talking about talented Roger pirates that can potentially use Roger’s moves.

Well, if we're going that route, we may as well assume he learned it at 37—which doesn't sound quite right but still within the realm of possibilities. When the information is limited, you go with the most likely scenarios, not the far fetched ones. So it's natural for the people to assume Shanks tried copying Roger when he was still around., which is why vast majority of us assumed a 15 year old Shanks learned it.

It's also, not very likely that he was way stronger than the F6 although it's not impossible. If he was, then it's pretty damn impressive as even PK level potentials like Luffy, Ace, etc, were nowhere near that level at a similar age. Once again, Rayleigh isn't the only skilled Roger pirate. He legit represents their peak after Roger. Even current Shanks gets hyped for being called stronger than Rayleigh. He's not your average standard.
