Questions & Mysteries Why did Blackbeard terrorize the drum kingdom?

#6
You are right, this thing was never explained. DoC Q was already a member of the Blackbeard pirates, so Blackbeard was definitely not searching for a doctor crewmate. I could think of a couple of theories:
(1) Blackbeard was trying to gain more information about his abnormal physique from the medical experts of Drum Island.
(2) Blackbeard was originally from a winter island (based on Luffy's statement that the winter island people never sleep) and he took out his childhood sadness and anger on Drum, another winter island

So you're theorizing that drum island is blackbeards home? Wouldn't be surprising. He attacked his new home and family when he joined whitebeard.

We see Dalton explain that Blackbeard attacked the drum kingdom and its never explained why as far as I'm aware

Any ideas why?
There is a theory that Blackbeard was looking for the mushroom on Drum Island that could cure any disease. That same mushroom that Chopper was looking for to cure Dr. Hiriluk. That “mushroom” is actually the Devil Fruit Chopper ate which is shaped like a mushroom. So Blackbeard was actually looking for the DF or the person who ate it.

This DF as we all know is the Human-Human Fruit. The other part of this theory is that this fruit is the ancient “Human-Human Model: Moonfolk”. Chopper’s transformations look very similar to people animal hybrids that live on the Moon. These beings from the Moon produce antibodies that can cure any disease, so the idea is that Chopper can biological transform into any of these beings to acquire the antibodies needed to cure any disease.

Please no more DF retcons, Oda.
The "Gomu Gomu no Mi is really a mythical zoan" one was enough.

For a series as long as One Piece I don’t really see how this would be retcon. For this theory at least it seems like everything related to Chopper’s fruit was established by the time the Skypeia arc was over. The theorist went into a lot more detail than I did. If you are interested in watching the original video it’s called “Chopper Ate The Ancient Devil Fruit” by “Dawn & Dusk” on YouTube.

We're in for a couple more DF retcons, so better get yourself used to it.
We already know that BB's fruit behaves weirdly for a Logia; Chopper's fruit is hinted to be more than it's been shown; Robin's, too, with her ability to create giant clones may hint at a godly nature.

Chopper's fruit probably cures all diseases for humans since it's a human human fruit. A human that eats it gains the body of an ideal human, thus without imperfections/diseases --> disease gone
