Questions & Mysteries Why did Hawkins join Kidd’s alliance?

#1
We know that Hawkins is a man who makes his decisions solely based on what his cards tell him. If there is a low probability of success he won’t even try to defy fate. So this has me thinking, why did Hawkins join Kidd’s alliance to take down Shanks? I think most of us would assume that the Kidd alliance stood no chance against Shanks, but is there a chance that we are wrong? From what we know Hawkins was fully on board with the alliance unlike Apoo who was always a snitch. That is until Kaido showed up and his cards told them they had no chance against him. My question is, If Kidd and his alliance truly stood no chance against Shanks wouldn’t Hawkins have just known from his cards that their probability of success was low and not join?

I honestly think the Kidd alliance had some type of scheme or plan put in place to maybe assassinate Shanks and the probability of them succeeding was actually pretty high. It really makes me think, how would the Kidd alliance actually have done against Shanks with whatever plan they came up with?

Thoughts?

Hawkins' actions seem to be 100% dictated by his cards. He said he joined Kaido cause his probability of death if he refused was 100%. Hawkins also had no issues fighting Kizaru cause his cards said his probability of death was 0% even it though it said he had a 100% chance of losing.

At very least, Hawkins had 0% chance of death going after Shanks with the Kidd Allaince.

They for sure had a scheme, as you said Hawkins bases all his decisions on the probabilities of success his card gives him.
Plus Kidd and Killer already fought against Shanks so it's safe to say that they had some intel on them (Killer in particular seems to be the smartest of them all).
Imo this beef with Shanks will be focal in the future, probably after the war tho.
