Luffy and Ryuma's accomplishment? Luffy is not a swordsman, he's not a Samurai, and G5 / Joy Boy needs no more portrayal hype. Why doesn't Oda make a parallel between Ryuma and Zoro's accomplishment instead? For example if Zoro fend off WG invasion after this? As someone who supports Luffy's powerlevel, i can take this as another strength hype...but this is really a confusing narrative tbh.

I understand Luffy is main character but this really came out of nowhere. In one chapter they said Zoro is one eyed swordsman as Ryuuma and now they are saying Luffy resembles Ryuuma. It feels weird. Maybe there will be some explanation after break and Oda rushed story to get bounties before break.

This is becoming sad. Ryuma is held as a hero of Wano. Guess who else save Wano from a big threat. A rubber god. Luffy defeated the Kaido, who had Wano under his thumb. It makes sense to compare the accomplishment.

Wrong. He didn't reconnect anything. Oda is comparing Zoro and Luffy to Ryuma in 2 different ways.

Zoro is compared to Ryuma because of his style with the sword and appearance.

Luffy (Joyboy) is viewed as someone who could rival Ryuma because of his awaken god Nika DF powers that allowed him to beat Kaido.

Oda already paralleled Zoro to Ryuma.

Some quickly forget scenes they don't wish to acknowledge.
