Imo kurohige is the best written yonko and loda is making him act like a real pirate that's why he mostly wins thanks to his crewmates traps and interested in things that are not related with fights that's why he mostly run away the problem is his fans are obsese with powerscaling just like op fandom in general and want him to be the final villain

He was making himself the target of the Marines and the pirates. This me aren’t the acts of a coward. He didn’t need to fight Akainu or Shanks for that matter. He uses his brain and only takes necessary fights.

Blackbeard’s weaknesses as per Whitebeard are carelessness and overconfidence. That’s two flaws designed to create downplaying.
Oda also has a habit of showing the start of Blackbeard’s fight- when he is being overconfident and careless- skipping over the bit of the fight where he actually wins, and then just seeing the aftermath, so we aren’t entirely sure of what he’s fully capable of.
