Questions & Mysteries why does Kidd have so little panel time in Wano

#41
Wano isn’t “Zoro’s arc”. Wano is the conclusion to the Yonko Saga and it’s main focus is the New Generation/Worst Generation surpassing the old. That’s what it’s been built as since the beginning of New World. (Finding out Kidd was wrecking Big Moms ships, Luffy challenging Big mom at fish man island, Luffy and Law alliance, Kidd alliance, destroying Kaido’s smile, angering Big Mom at WCI, etc). Zoro as a member of the Worst Generation and one of the main characters will obviously play a big role, but this arc was never sold off as “Zoro’s arc”. It’s Zoro fans that keep on pushing that bs.

But like you said Zoro does have great connection to Wano so I think he will have big moments like reopening Kaido’s wound with Enma, revisiting Ryuma’s grave, and unlocking Conquerers Haki. Is that not good enough?
you think being outshined by midd in an arc which isnt even his main one is a good performance:crazwhat:

yes it has.

Zoro will be outshined by Luffy this arc too.
So:kaidowhat: unless you think killing a very weakened Kaido is better than beating him:bamathink:

Oda won’t let someone in Luffy’s own crew outshine Luffy against Yonko captains and we know Luffy won’t kill
Oda won't let someone outshine Luffy.
Still doesnt change the fact that Zoro has a stronger connection with Wano than Luffy
With Wano not with Kaido
And even for Wa No it's not totally true, considering Wa No is deeply connected to the void century and JoyBoy.

Low-panel time means nothing

Either way Oda should put more emphasise on Kidd than Zoro, giving that Kidd is Luffy's rival and hell having a rival is cool on shounens but the way Oda goes I wouldn't be surprised if Zoro outshine Kidd.

Comparisons to Blackbeard at Marineford don’t work. Blackbeard made a huge dramatic entrance in Marineford and then stole the show. Kid has been in the arc since the end of Act One, he’s been shown, he just hasn’t been all that important in it. Take him out of the arc and nothing changes- you could take him out of the series and nothing would change.

Ultimately we know that Kid will play a role in Kaido’s defeat, but there’s very little reason to suspect it will be a massive one. Compare how Kid has been treated here to how Law was treated in Dressrosa. Law was as much a main character as Luffy that arc. Can’t say the same for Kid.
:choppawhat:or simply say you fear kidd will outshine zoro so bad

Yes, I know it’s tough to wrap your head around this, but Zoro can still have an impressive performance without outshining Kidd. If you think Kidd is leaving Wano looking worse than Zoro then be ready to be disappointed.

Also once again, Wano is not Zoro’s arc. It is the conclusion to the Yonko saga. Will Zoro play a big part in this arc? Absolutely because as you said he has some connections there and he is a Strawhat. Is this arc “his arc”? No. Zoro appearing on a cover page doesn’t change that.

In all honesty, within the confines of how Wano is written, in conjunction with Kid's character and his standing on the whole "Alliance" matter, it is hard to see how Oda could have squeezed more panel time out of him and his crew in this arc.

Kid's objective might align with the Strawlliance, but his story of how he's meant to go about getting there, does not. There was just waaaaay to much other lore and tie ins from other characters who are pertinent to the country itself, within this arc, to make everything fall into place, that randomly cutting to Kid doing stuff would feel forced and out of place, as Kid has no real connection to anyone who is detrimental to the overarching plotline of freeing the Country.

Where we are at now, is where Kid's time in the arc is meant to shine. Everything that came before this, he wasn't really needed to drive home the major plot points that needed the most focus to build up to this point.

Will he kill Kaido? No.... But I wouldn't bet against him being a key player in this fight.

hes not a SH or a relevant Wano citizen. why would he get panel time?
unless a SH or relevant Wano citizen is interacting with him directly or indirectly I see no reason why Oda should shift attention to him.
this is not Kidd Piece.

Kidd had equal portrayal to the chosen one - Luffy - during Udon. what more do people expect?
