Luffy is faster overall in Gear 2 than he is in Gear( All 3 forms). Katakuri could hit Luffy easier while in Gear 4 than when he was in Gear 2 or Base.

He should be using Gear stacking to conserve haki, in long fights. Even Rayleigh said Luffy should come up with an alternative to Gear 4. Doflamingo also mentioned something similar.

But g4 caused a lil issue.

G2 failed to blitz cracke and kata
G4 did.

The only thing g2 did was dodge but on offense? It attack and movement speed is fodder compared to g4

Like, gear 2nd is fast in small bursts, but gear 4th just allowed him to cover hundreds of metres of ground in an instant without Doffy noticing him.

for me? yes. it sucks aestetically.
the pose and form is overused. I strongly dislike it.
even that one dude from the ninja force is a carbon copy of this design.
if we are being honest its actually 2 of them...

Gear 4 is too innefficent, but Oda loves to nerf Luffy by making him not use his full poweers and injuring/ tiring him out him before every boss fight. He did not use King Kong Gun in the Cracker fight. That was a massive nerf right there.

Anime does not count, and he never used it. He ran out of Gear 4 just as he was about to use it.
