Why do you want ZKK to happen?

Choosing an outcome and searching for evidence afterwards is an illogical and unscientific theory.
It's only illogical if the outcome isn't suggested in the manga.
Which, for ZKK, it can definitely be argued that it is suggested in the manga.

If you said "Zoro defeats Blackbeard (while Luffy naps) because [insert 'evidence' here]".
Where evidence is junk like "Blackbeard is related to the number 3 and Zoro uses 3 swords, Aha! Zoro defeats BB confirmed!"
Then, that is totally different. That's an outcome that wasn't suggested in the manga and that you came up with yourself...

Because it correlates to zoros history and his legacy going foward. Being able to permanently wound the strongest thing and potentially land the final blow of the strongest thing would put him in the definitive ranking of being a worthy opponent for the strongest swordsman in the one piece verse.

It would also complete the lore of zoro being given odens will (enma)

Defeating a real dragon (ryuma) infront of the citizens of wano while saving the country of wano and being one of the pillars to bring it back to its former glory. It would also mark momo on his quest to be as great as a swordsman as zoro and earn his father's keepsake (enma) from him.

Then if we add the themes of kaido and his attacks being so similar to zoro that even oda confirmed in an sbs if zoro were to have a fruit it would be kaidos lol

I know what you're trying to say. Picking an outcome and going back to try to justify it. But ZKK is a conclusion reached by specifically focusing on the things Oda has included, like a freaking sword relevant to Zoro's life story and simultaneously tied to wounding Kaido. It's being told that a guy who looks just like Zoro did this thing when placed in the exact same situation Zoro is now. To not understand the notion is just shitty comprehension.

The crazy little clues are numerous and came from people seeing Kaido show up with a dragon tattoo and remembering Zoro's tiger tattoo for one example

I understand that it's easy to call these coincidence except people have been piling them on for years. This much evidence, some of it just has to check out.

I just don’t get it.
I've written a lot of essays to answer "Why ZKK?". In roughly chronological order, they are:

  1. A look at Inherited Will in the Land of Wano
    • An analysis of the Oden's will to slay Kaido and open Wano's borders, passed on to his Scabbards and to Roronoa Zoro through Enma.
  2. The Second Advent
    • "Sword God" Shimotsuki Ryuma, Shimotsuki Zoro, and Dragon Slaying
  3. Long Live ZKK
    • Reasons to still believe in ZKK after chapters 1010 - 1012.
  4. Kaido Must Die
    • The narrative necessity of Kaido's death.
  5. No, Zoro is NOT "Done" After Defeating King
    • Zoro still has more to accomplish in the Wano arc in order to bring his character arc to a truly satisfying conclusion.

I no longer feel passionate about ZKK, but I think that's more less investment in One Piece than having being convinced that ZKK is unfounded.

I don't think ZKK must happen and I wouldn't be surprised if it did not. But I do think a second confrontation with Kaido is necessary to do justice to Zoro’s character.
