And Roger, even before that, was portrayed as an easy-going individual who would only destroy you if you did anything to him or his nakama, similar to Whitebeard, Shanks and Luffy. Either Squardo or his crew dungoofed, pirate life ant what-not. May have even pulled a Kid. Or perhaps he was manipulated into angering Roger, like when he stabbed Whitebeard like the dummy he is.
I remember the Squardo thing, that part was fine strategy, I didn't remember Sengoku was responsible for the infanticide, which now that I think about it is an allegory in which Ace would be Jesus.

Literally the only person in this fucking manga who reached, not only an avarage high position, but the peak of the sea, without plot armor, divine DF, an important dad or mother or family, ancestral weapon, strong allies ecc
